Centrally located to central railway and metro stations. Main Bazaar Paharganj is a hive of activity for food, street markets, chemists, general stores, restaurants and cafés and anything else in between. I travel to India regularly and have stayed mostly in Paharganj. Hotel Hari Piorko is probably one of the best I have stayed at and the top floor restaurant serves some of the best tasting dishes yet. The breakfast menu is great along with the availability of food long into the night. The staff are very helpful during check in and check out. Great position for private taxi pick up and drop off. Clean comfy beds and great showers. Has wall mounted liquid shower soap and hair shampoo and hand wash. The hotels position is a great place to meet fellow foreign travellers sharing travel experiences in India. Paharganj is not for the faint hearted and can be very overwhelming for inexperienced foreign travellers so buckle up hold on and love the experience ahead.

I will never book this hotel again. The room was damp dark and dirty. I was sick afterwards. There was a lot of noise durng the night. We did not feel safe.

We saw a rat in the reception There was no tv, there was a hole in the wall instead Not enough toilet paper When we got there, they didn’t have the room with the two single beds. We waited 1h until they changed us to a new room with the 2 beds.

Plugged the kettle in and black smoke came pouring from the wall socket. Very loud buzzing sound from bathroom ceiling. Reported 1/2 hour after check in. Man came and told me to wait as he was coming back (he didn't) so i waited 1 hour for him then had to turn off all power in order to sleep. Reported the problems at front desk in the morning but no one was interested. At 9pm i got a call from customer services asking if i was happy with my stay. I told him no, and as i had an early flight i would have to turn all the power off again to sleep, and too late for repair people in my room.. Used to be a nice place, but now very run down and very over priced. I stayed many times over the years, but never again.

The place was below par for cleaning. The room was cold and damp. The front foyer is unpleasantly cluttered. We often were woken up by men yelling in the hallway.

The location was great. The best thing was my "bio back care" back massage by Surender. This was in the Ayurvedic Clinic in the hotel. He is a pro. I felt fantastic. The breakfast in the cafe upstairs was also good. Nice view of the street. They did give us a small upgrade for free.

The reception sitting area was not very clean. Sofas were old and spotted. The cleaning was being done right on the face with a broom. The toilet flush was hardly working. We had to flush the toilet using buckets of water each time after use. No doormat in the room. Bathroom cleaning was impossible and the water stayed on the floor. The room was too noisy. Old windows. The airport taxi driver drove very dangerously and fast even after pointing out that we feel unsafe. The family room isn't that good. It's quite small and congested. Cleanliness was moderate. No toiletries except towel and hand soap.

Check-in was easy. The reception was kind enough to provide us an early check-in after some wait. Nice local market nearby.

Cont……. Upon entering the new room there was no longer two beds and instead 1 queen bed and no signs of a refurbished room. The sheets were still stained and had marks all of them, one positive however was that the shower worked in this room. Unfortunately, we didn’t discovered until the middle of the night that the AC did not work in this new room. Nor did our door handle which was broken. After a hot night we excitedly went for breakfast but were then told this was now not included! After checking with the manager they confirmed this, so we asked why it was no longer included but didn’t get an answer. We then asked if it could be included as a sorry for the poor state of the rooms but were told no. We then raised the issue of the AC not working and they did say they would send “a boy” to fix the AC so we waited in our room but nobody came. Overall it was a terrible experience and definitely not worth the money. I have no idea how this is a 4 star hotel let alone has a 7.8 rating. I would give it 1 star and 1/10 but purely for the shower as even the wifi was rubbish. The feedback is harsh but wish we had seen it so could have avoided the place!

NOTHING *Terrible Accommodation* After 6 months backpacking around Asia this is the worst accommodation I have had and I’ve mainly been staying to hostels. The large neon sign and metal detectors upon entry should have been a warning. Once inside the staff weren’t helpful although we were told breakfast was included and one of the bell boys kindly carried our bags to our room so things were looking up. Upon arriving at the Family Executive Room with two double beds we were greeted by a wave of warmth and a smell of urine along with a loud noises from the road outside, on top of that the bed sheets were stained and off white and the room looked 20 years older then the photos. Unsatisfied but prepared to get on with it, we headed out for dinner and asked reception for a spare key as I was staying with a friend and wanted flexibility but were told this was not allowed for security reasons, which is very unhelpful. Upon returning at 11pm we found out the shower did not work at all which was the last straw so we asked for a refund and said we would find alternative accommodation, but they told us that we could move rooms to one of the “new” ones that had recently been upgraded.
