Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A very homely feel with lovely airy room and very pleasant balcony. The breakfast was delicious and the staff we were very welcoming. The location is great, quiet but not far from lots of nice restaurants.

Everything was grate
The location was great to visit the area, the building was beautiful, very big spacious rooms, very clean, and comfortable beds. The owner and his wife super friendly, and helpful with everything, he recommended 4 restaurants, we tried 3 all of them delicious.

My stay at Hospedaria Abrigo de Botelho was truly unforgettable! This charming hotel is both centrally located and incredibly peaceful, offering spotless rooms, a serene atmosphere, and a delightful breakfast in the inner garden. But what truly made my experience special was the exceptional hospitality of the owners, Mr. Roy and his wife. They took care of every detail with such warmth and kindness that I felt completely at home. Leaving was bittersweet, and their thoughtful gesture of walking me to my taxi speaks volumes about their genuine care for their guests. Nothing - all was good
The guy who ran the place was super helpful and freindly and told us all sort of practical details such as the best place to change money in town and also where to get an Indian SIM card. The buliding is a traditional Portuguese large home and is beautiful with dark wood ceiling and tiled floors. It is in the heart of town but there is not much noise. Beds are really big!

No negatives so can’t recommend highly enough.
Beautiful historic house in a superb location, walking distance to fantastic restaurants and bars. Great breakfast choice including freshly cooked food in a garden setting. The owners were super helpful with ongoing travel advice and also helping us to make the most of our stay in this charming city.

The beds are rather hard for those that like something softer however pillows and bedding were great.
Triple room for 2 was huge with balcony, large bathroom and dressing room. Lovely old interior and furniture. Right in the old town but quiet at night. A characterful property. Breakfast was good and could be eaten outside in the garden.

The Hospedaria Abrigo is a beautifully maintained guest house in the Latin Quarters of Panaji. Roy and Sharon were the perfect hosts with recommendations for local restaurants, sight seeing and organising transport for our onward trip. Their staff were cordial and helpful. The home cooked breakfasts were lovely - a wide choice including an opportunity to try a variety of Goan dishes. The rooms are big and spacious, clean and comfortable.

The room was comfortable, I also enjoyed the balcony with rocking-chair. Impressive heritage building. The owner was very helpful and gave great advice about sights and restaurants. And the homemade breakfast in the backside garden was amazing!
