Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MexicoBathrooms were dirty without hot water, common areas were also dirty. Rooms were barely acceptable. The neighborhood was also not the best although it was close to a metro station. The breakfast is served on an old and very dirty terrace. And the whole building looked also in really bad shape.
The staff was very friendly, but we dislike that we were waked up to invite us to breakfast which we were not interested in. Other guests were very friendly.

The staff are normal 😂 I had two very different experiences when arriving in Delhi the 1st time and when coming here a second time thanks to this hostel! The first time I stayed in Paharganj and I found it very overwhelming, plus all the hostels seemed to be owned by the same person (group of people) with scam tactics to take your money. This place not at all! ... the staff are all young adults who are just looking to make sure you have a good time, they also really try to make ensure everyone feels included through organising multiple social events and activites throughout the day without charging you (or for a normal amount of money), the area is also relaxed and next to an accessible metro so you can really get a good grounding here in Delhi... free from harrasment. I would stay here on my return to Delhi again... I also as a lone women traveller stayed in the 4 bed mixed dorm, had no issues with noise, was able to sleep and felt comfortable.

FranceI stayed a whole week at Joey’s, it was one of my favorite hostels I’ve been to thanks to the amazing vibe! I met a bunch of travellers and the staff was super friendly and helpful! The hostel offers free breakfast, chai in the afternoon, and they organize great tours as well. Thanks guys! The location is right next to the metro and makes it easy to move around

The hostel staff is exceptional. I had already stayed two nights in the hostel (25-26 March), I returned to Delhi to take my bus to Varanasi in the afternoon and they let me stay in the living room and also gave me free breakfast.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! This is one the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. From the dorm rooms to the washrooms (they have hot showers 24/7 OMG!!) everything is great. The guys who are working at the hostel are doing an amazing job. There are always there to help 24/7 which is quite incredible. Nitin (Manager) is the MVP. Kamal is so helping. I will always stay at this hostel whenever I am in Delhi. Thanks guys for everything. 10/10

SwitzerlandThe staff was not very professional. Rooms were not clean everyday. They will occupied the small living room for the whole day, watching Reels or sleeping. I booked my bed for 5 days, but between I had 2 days in Agra. When I came back they gave my bed to someone else even if I still had the bed reserved for me. They gave me another bed and while I was watching the staff preparing it, I noticed that he didn't change the blanket of the last guest. They seemed a bit messy with their organization (indian style).
That was the hostel with the most foreigners I've had in India. The beds have curtains. The toilet were clean with paper toilet and hot shower. AC in the room. Not far from Laxmi Nagar Metro station.

India1. Lying about pricing. I was told 3 different prices before I came, obviously they set the price according to how "rich" they think you are and how urgent your situation is. First I was told 700 on the phone, then 800 by a different person, then 850 in person. 2. My bed was dirty and may have caused me to get sick. The bathroom toilet did not flush. 3. The staff makes or breaks the experience for me. I was very disappointed. One member of the staff was a young kid who seemed to constantly talk back to me and try to get smart with me although he is much younger than me. He was very rude. Other staff just seemed unhappy in their jobs and did not seem to care that I was feeling very ill. No one ever came to check on me or asked me if I'm ok. 4. Despite what it says on booking.com, there is no free breakfast OR coffee and tea capability. Paid breakfast timing ends at 10 AM which is too early. They should update their listing so they dont mislead people.
Some members of staff were kind and helpful, but most were not. the People staying at the hostel itself seemed nice, and the common areas were comfy and spacious. They let me stay in the common area after my checkout because I was not feeling at all well. They did offer a bottle of water upon check in.

IndonesiaNothing - just would have liked to stay here longer!
This is one of my all time top favorite hostels I’ve ever been too. Joeys was the first stop in India and first stop on my trip. Immediately Suhel, Nitin, and Kabira and the rest of the staff took me in and showed me a good time in the city. I did the walking tours in Old Delhi and the Tibetan market, and some shopping areas - everything from the food recommendations to where they suggested I visit in the city was amazing. Best food, good people, and location that felt safe for Delhi - couldn’t ask for more. The guys there are always there to help and want you to experience Delhi how it really should be seen!!! Stay here if you want to get a good start to your trip and then try Joeys hostel in Agra too when you want to get to Agra. Also they did help with buying a train ticket and getting a SIM card and you can ignore the other reviews. They do a good job to make sure that you’re well accommodated and you have everything you need.

United StatesWhere to begin? Staff was dismissive and unhelpful, and seemed more concerned with entertaining their local friends (who stayed up late watching a loud movie in the common area right outside our room) than with helping guests. Their local friends completely took over the common area and even slept on the couches. Rooms and bathrooms were so dirty, they looked like they hadn't cleaned anything since the last time I stayed here six years ago! One staff member came into our room THREE TIMES around 2-3am and TURNED ON THE LIGHTS in the dorm full of sleeping people to take a photo of a guest (I assume for a SIM application). What the hell?! Absolutely avoid this place... It is a nightmare, and you can easily find someplace better for the price.
I stayed here a few years ago and it was great... Boy has it gone downhill since!

GermanyThere are no curtains in the womens room. The upstairs bathroom is also much more run down than the downstairs bathroom. They cancelled the organized walking tour only at the time it was supposed to start, meaning I had wasted a lot of time coming back to the hostel for it.
