Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumA bit hard to find, but the owner offers a free pickup from the bus station, so not an issue.
Very friendly owner. He recommended us a tuktuk for 1 day to see the activities slightly outside of the city. Close to the bus station, walking distance. Good price quality.

United KingdomBathroom needs a revamp but I believe there are already plans in place for this :)
Bana was simply amazing and was always on hand to assist with any questions / advice on where to go in Jaipur. We even went to the market with him & he haggled down the price of some trousers for us. He planned the Holi event and everyone had the most wonderful time. His family were incredibly welcoming & the breakfast at the hostel is delicious and cheap. There were fitness weights and a garden space to workout. The room we stayed in had a large window and was light and airy. This hostel is exactly what you pay for + we highly recommend. Thank you for having us :)

GermanyJwala Niketan felt like a home during my stay in Jaipur :) the location is perfect to get away from the craziness of the streets of Jaipur but is at the same time only a short Tuk Tuk ride away from the main attractions. Also there are nice rooftop bars right around the corner where one can enjoy some great food and cold beers in the evening!

United KingdomThe bathroom could’ve been a bit cleaner and sometimes struggled for hot water but not an issue at all.
Bana the host is the kindest and most caring soul and will do anything to ensure you have a comfortable stay. I was sick and he went above and beyond to care for me. He will help you with anything you might need and made my stay in Jaipur. There is a lovely community/family feel to the homestay, eating breakfast with the other guests and chatting with the family. Such a gorgeous comfortable place to stay and cant recommend it enough!

South AfricaBana, the owner, made us feel very welcome and at home at Jwala Niketan. He offered us guided tours and a choice of rooms! Very thoughtful, smart and kind. Delicious food! We arrived needing a rest & wished we could have extended our stay. He introduced us to our kind and efficient Tuk Tuk driver, Shebaz, who took us in a magical 10 hour tour of Jaipur! Highly recommend Bana's hotel. And his driver contact, Shebaz, for good energy & enthusiasm. Thank you!

SloveniaAmazing location—close to bars and restaurants yet very quiet at the same time. Bana was a great host; he picked us up from the bus station and let us check in early since we arrived on the night bus. We had a small mishap—another guest accidentally picked up our clothes from the laundry and left for Delhi. However, Bana really came through for us, contacting the guest and arranging everything so that our clothes were delivered to Agra a few days later.

New ZealandI think perhaps some glasses, an electric jug and cups in your room would be great.
Bana and his team were amazing hosts. The room was big and spacious and the balcony was a welcomed bonus. Breakfast had a lot of choices and was great value for money. Nothing was to far away with the metro a few minutes walk. Bana was always there with a solution to any questions and his walking tour was well worth doing. Kia Ora my friend

Bana is the best host you could ask for. He is so helpful and friendly and creates such a lovely atmosphere for all his guests. His family are so kind and helpful. The guesthouse is in a nice quiet location but easy to get to the main sights via tuk tuk or metro. The rooms are really spacious - we loved the direct access to the sunny terrace from our room. Beds are super comfy too. We absolutely loved our stay here and decided to stay longer!

MexicoMy room had a a door to the main balcony but no windows (no natural light), different from the photos but it wasn’t really a problem
The property is in good condition, has a home feeling as it’s run by a family. The breakfast was delicious and Bana the manager is very helpful with information about activities and transportation.

United KingdomNothing in particular.
The Jwala Niketan is an exceptional hotel situated a short walk from the centre of the city, the metro and the Old Town. Banna, his mother and sister, are very welcoming and as a guest you are treated as a member of the family. Banna was very helpful and informative and arranged a tour of the town and visits to nearby places of interest. Jaipur is a fascinating city with much to see, and it was also a bonus to meet and talk with other guests who stay at the hotel regularly. There is a washing/ironing service available and it was good to be able to have dinner at the hotel in the evening. I would definitely stay there again.

AustraliaIt's not something that we didn't like so to speak but we did have trouble with the plumbing of our toilet when we first arrived but Bana got straight onto it and when the plumber couldn't come because it was a Sunday, he did it himself. He is also in the process of redoing bathrooms and giving the place a little make-over!!
Bana was the most amazing host for our stay in Jaipur. He is so knowledgeable not only about Jaipur but also surrounding cities and destinations. He was even able to help us out when another company cancelled our car transfer from Pushkar to Delhi at very short notice and over the Christmas- new year period. He organized a new driver and helped us get the payment to the new driver without any hassles. He then also checked after the journey to make sure we had arrived safely back in Delhi. The beds are also super comfy and the property has a fantastic view from the rooftop. I one day hope to return to Jaipur and will definitely being staying at Bana's place again!!!!

LatviaThe rooms are old-fashioned and very simple, but the hotel has a fantastic and warm-hearted owner who makes up for all the minor imperfections. We truly felt at home during our stay here. At the end of December, we noticed it was quite cold, but we were given an extra blanket. There was hot water, towels, and soap available. Overall, it was a very good experience. Thank you!
