If I had to be extremely critical, maybe the food options in the cafe could be more. But with swiggy/zomato at your fingertips and the good eating spots close by I personally wasnt discouraged by this

The staff was friendly, attentive and accommodative. They keep organising events and keep seeking feedback to improve. Location of the spot makes it walking distances to many tourist spot. Also very close to the lake, this allows the traveller to choose if they want a quiet day or adventurous one.

I had an amazing stay at Mantra Hostel and would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a chill, comfortable, and well-located place to stay. The vibe of the hostel is super welcoming and laid-back, making it perfect for solo travellers, backpackers, or even small groups. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, but what really stood out for me were the pillows – seriously, some of the most comfortable I’ve ever had in a hostel. You’ll sleep like a baby! The beds are cozy, and the ambiance of the dorms is peaceful and homely. The location is also a big plus – close to the main attractions and yet tucked away enough to give you that peaceful, offbeat vibe. You can walk or grab a quick ride to most places without any hassle. And now, a special shoutout to the receptionist lady – I wish I remembered her name because she absolutely deserves the praise. She was kind, helpful, and always smiling. Whether it was giving directions, suggesting food places, or just having a casual chat, she made the place feel like home. Hosts like her make all the difference in the world! Oh, and the food – definitely above average hostel food. Tasty, hygienic, and just right after a long day out. You won’t be disappointed. All in all, Mantra Hostel is a gem. Great staff, great vibes, great sleep. Will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful hostel in the centre of Udaipur. The female dorm was super clean, the terrace has an amazing view and the food is delicious. But the big plus of this hostel is the staff. I had some health problems and one of the staff came with me to the hospital! The least I can say is that they are really friendly and helpful. I felt like at home and would definitely come back! Thank you so much!!

Although this was a hostel we, as more mature travellers, were warmly welcomed. Our ensuite room (comfortable , clean with everything working) was quiet with a stunning view across the lake. From the rooftop terrace it was even better. The old building has been sympathetically restored and we left feeling that we had the full, romantic, Udaipur experience without the eye watering prices of nearby hotels, just lovely.

Loved the location. The common room, where you could rest, in case of you arrive early (free early check in at 8 AM to the common room). Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Loved the movie night. Bathroom was surprisingly very clean

Most welcoming hostel I’ve stayed at so far in India! From the owners to the staff to the volunteers, the team goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcomed and at home! They have great activities each day, amazing location to all the attractions, awesome common areas to meet lots of people, and clean and comfortable rooms. Hostel mantra has been a highlight of my trip and I can’t recommend this hostel enough!

The place is clean and really nice. The position is also close to all the main attractions of the city. At sunset the view from the terrace is amazing. The staff was just splendid, they were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They organized a lot of fun activities for the guests creating a family-like atmosphere. Definitely the best experience I ever had in a hostel!! Highly suggested.

The location is in the heart of Udaipur making all attractions and the lake front only minutes walk away. Staff were so helpful and chatty - which ultimately helped us plan our 1.5 days in Udaipur. The sunrise bike trip is 10/10 and worth every penny, felt safe and got to experience parts of Udaipur which wouldn’t be possible without this trip! The hostel itself was clean and well maintained, the restaurant was tasty and good value and the private room and ensuite were big enough. Another highlight of the premises was the terrace - great social space with a great view of the lake. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The roof to views were phenomenal and an artists dream.

Our stay was exceptional and made all the more so by the team who run Mantra. The room was beautiful with fabulous views and very clean. The food was excellent and very fresh, delicious fresh orange juice and omelettes to name just a few things. Had it not been for the kindness of Dwisha and Anurag who managed to locate my friends lost bag at the airport our whole experience would have been so different with no clothes or painting materials. It was a magical stay. Thank you.

The beds were very comfortable with curtains, lights and small shelves in each bed. Staff were very friendly! The sunrise motorbike tour was excellent and the sunset from the rooftop was beautiful! Would stay again :) also super central location on the water!

Great price and location. Hostel has a really good social vibe for solo travellers (they do daily free chai on the rooftop for sunset which really helps bring all the guests together). The private room was lovely and one of the cleanest during my trip in India.

Hot shower not working properly, it was on and off. Also if you are staying on the 3rd floor, close to the terrace, it might be noisy until 12 or 1am, from music and people drinking, so if you are a person looking for a good night of sleep maybe this is not your place. I did laundry with them, found it way too expensive, 600 INR for 1 bag

The location is perfect, close to everything but still quiet. Beds are comfy and clean. My room (6 people) was big and had everything you needed. The view from the rooftop is awesome! Also, the staff organize activities everyday for the guests, it makes it easy to meet other travellers. Vibes in this Hostel are a 10!

Hostel Mantra was absolutely wonderful! The biggest concern for me was always cleanliness and the reviews helped me choose this place, but I was always in doubt. But the moment we stepped in, all my worries went away. The hostel is exceptionally clean. kudos to the team for that. I initially planned to stay for a week but ended up extending because I just couldn’t leave. The rooftop is a highlight, with delicious food and stunning sunset views. The New Year party was so nicely planned. and OMG!!!! The firework display was absolutely delight to watch. A special mention to Ashish, who treated us to the most delicious mutton biryani, and to Vinit, Dwisha and Yusuf, the friendly and welcoming staff. Oh we had such an amazing time here, music, dance and karaoke nights. Every night we all would just chill with light music, star gazing and bonfire. would definitely miss that a lot. As a female traveler, I felt completely safe and comfortable throughout my visit. Hands down this is the property to choose if you are planning to stay here. Thank you guys. See you super soooooon
