Nothing, All was great once we had orientated to not being on the main Marari Beach. Marari is a huge area!

- lovely hosts eager to make your stay enjoyable - delicious breakfasts - tasty food available for lunch and dinner, good value - cheap easy tuk tuk ride to backwaters at Allepuzha (Oliver's Travels group Canoe trip recommended) - clean, litter free little beach just in front of propetty gorgeous for swimming and sunsets. (At first we were confused as this is not the main Marari Beach we had expected, there are no shops or beach cafes here, they are a tuk tuk ride away to the North. However, once we'd visited the beaches at Marari and Allepuzha - both littered and agoraphobically vast - we fell in love even more with the little 'private' beach in front of this homestay. With working fishermen's cottages around there is also a fast disappearing authenticity to this area).

Albert and Sunitha made sure we had a very easy and relaxed stay, ensuring we had everything we needed. I rarely rate a place with a 10 but this place deserves nothing less than a 10. In addition to the excellent care and lovely friendship this couple so generously give, you get an amazing private beach a few steps away. During the sunset, we walked onto the beach and into the warm water to watch the sun set. Definitely book this place if you are in the area.

The location was amazing, right on the beach in a friendly, quiet neighborhood. I felt completely safe walking around the neighborhood alone. The meals were reasonably priced and delicious and the family was very kind and helpful.

I don't find anything I didn't like!!

This is just heaven!! The best welcome I had in Kerala!!! When you arrive here it's like getting home because everyone treats you like family. I spent New Year's eve and was invited to celebrate with the family and friends!! Thank you again once more!!! My room was very comfortable and very clean. The best had a good quality mattress. The bathroom was big and I appreciated the non slippery tiles on the floor!!! The beach is 20 meters away and is like a private beach so beautiful! 50 meters on the beach comes the river and it makes a very nice scenery!!! The food is delicious and freshly prepared on demand by Sunitha who's such a nice chef!! Everyone is dedicated to make your stay very special and I was very grateful for that. The beautiful young girls bring you food with a large smile on the face and the young boys don't hesitate to carry heavy luggage!!

From check in to check out and everything in between. Hosts were amazing and the home cooked meals are a must try if you want to have authentic Kerala food (which is cooked at their house). Appam and Chicken ghee roast was so so good . Must visit for anyone visiting Allepey.

The property has a beach in front which essentially becomes a private beach and I had an amazing time sitting there during sunset. The hosts are very nice and helpful and catered to all our requests during the stay. The room, balcony, washroom, were all very clean and hygienic. We had a very lovely stay here and would love to return in the future.

During my three night stay in Marari Xavier's Inn was awesome. The host and his family are so friendly in nature, a kind hospitality,neat and tidy environment,good authentic homemade Kerala foods,good transportation services.Nevertheless, the ocean view is amazing. It's a HOME away from HOME. Thank you for your warm and great services.

The room was described as having a sea view.This was not strictly true as the view was obscured by trees and foliage. The sea was only a few meters away however and I did enjoy listening to the waves.

The hosts Sunitha and Albert were extremely welcoming and hospitable to me throughout my whole stay. Sunitha is an excellent cook and provided me with some excellent local style home cooked meals. Everyday she asked if I wanted dinner and what my choices were. I was never disappointed with the results . Albert organised some trips for me with his local contacts. They asked what I wanted to do, and also made helpful suggestions. Albert either took me to the destination himself, or arranged alternative transportation. He ensured that I was collected at a designated time and place to ensure my safe return. As a solo female traveller , this made me feel safe and secure going out alone, and that someone was checking on my safety. My room was clean and comfortable, with all amenities as described. Wi-fi was excellent.. Proximity to a lovely peaceful unspoilt beach was amazing. There were very few tourists around, which was a joy, and I loved watching the local fishermen launch their boats in the evening and return early in the morning. The west facing beach had the most incredible sun-sets I have ever seen!! This was an extremely relaxing 'get away from it all ' holiday. Perfect.

Such an amazing, family run homestay. The main highlight of this homestay is food, chechi here cooks really yummy food. Every individual in this household is dedicated to ensuring that your stay remains unforgettable, it was like being with your own family members. Large, clean rooms and bathroom. It's just a 2 min walk away from the beach. If you are looking for a homestay experience this is one of the best.

We stayed for only two days at Marari Xavier’s Inn Homestay, but wished we would have stayed longer.. The owners are sweet and very helpful. The meals served are delicious and they are open for any preferences. The room we had was clean and comfortable with a nice terrace. On only 1 minute walk you will find a clean and private beach where you can go for a refreshing swim. Every morning, we enjoyed a morning yoga routine to start the day well. We would 100% recommend to stay here with this warm family!

We had been to this homestay just for 1 night and yes the experience was really amazing. They have rooms overlooking beach. Food is also excellent especially during breakfast even though they had limited items but food taste really good. Service is also really good and the family was very nice.
