Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room a little cold at morning.
Gaurav was very helpful, the room was nice and the place is near of the ghat. Also, they have a wonderful terrace.

Hot water run out very quickly in the morning. Otherwise no complains.
Gaurav is a great host, we felt like home. He went out of the way to meet us at night. Our room was on the top floor, so we could also use the terrace near it. The beds are comfortable to my taste, everything was very clean, no insects inside. The bedsheets are clean as well. The hosts cooked a very nice breakfast and were very warm and welcoming. Special thanks for the Christmas party and the treat!

Switch for geyser was in another room, had to daily tell to have hot water. The bathroom was little small for my taste. Rest everything was good.
The location is really good, this property is very near to the ghats, just 2 minutes of walking distance. To reach this place, get to the Dashashwamedh ghat and from the ghat just 2 minutes walk to munshi ghat and take the stairs next to BrijRama Palace hotel. You'll reach the property. The owner of the property Gaurav is really helpful and even provided us with early checkin. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities. I would recommend this property to anyone coming to varanasi, even people from various countries prefer this place. The location is near to the prime tourist places.

The mattrace could be a little bit softer for my taste.
The owner family was really friendly and helpful!! I asked before for a room with a window and the owner did answer fast that it’s no problem. I think we had the best room (top floor) and it was so nice that it was quiet. Also I have to say that the house/ room was so clean and you can reach everything around by walking. Loved it. Thank you for everything!

The accommodation is very simple and very old but you‘ll be right at the heart of Varanasi!
The Hosting Family is incredibly nice and helpful! We had great activities from a boat ride on the Ganges River, a walking tour through Varanasi to perfect seats for viewing „Aarti“

The only thing I would suggest is to provide longer beds. I'm 180 cm, and my whole feet stay off the bed while liying.
We felt like home at Mother Hostel. The family is friendly, kind, and very helpful. All the facilities, including the room and bathroom, were extremely clean and well maintained. Also, the room is quite spacious. If you need anything, from food to tours, money exchange, laundry service, everything can be arranged by them. Also, the location is great, just a short walk from some of the main landmarks in Varanasi.

Our room had no window so no natural light, and there wad a large grate into the communal area so it was quite loud and lacked privacy.
Cheap hostel close to the Ganga and the ghats and the main bazaar. Friendly host and family, they arranged a great boat tour for us.

Walkable distance for GANGa river. Walkable distance to kasi viswanath temple Hotel are near get good food
We are from Tamilnadu Dindigul . Food nice, Arrangements if you discuss he arranged well for pooja and site seeing . Total 5 days staying with family. All our family members enjooy the trip. We recommend "Mothers Hostel" is cheap and best at KASI.
