Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBathroom could do with updating & it is a 15 minute walk down narrow streets but this was part of the adventure. The hotel arranged to pick us up from the airport & staff met us at the taxi & carried our luggage to the hotel.
Amazing staff, great location, good WiFi, balcony overlooking the River Ganges. The room was spacious & comfortable. There was lots of hot water & the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was basic but freshly prepared. The view from the balcony & the roof top restaurant was amazing. The staff couldn’t do enough for us & provided bottles of ice cold water as soon as we returned to the hotel after sightseeing.

AustraliaWe stayed during kumbh. For the price way paid, the room wasn’t really up to scratch. The shared balcony’s were not great as guests were very loud and eating food ( and left rubbish) etc there even into the late hours. The location is great though

AustraliaIt was a little difficult to find. the room was very small and we had to arch our backs to get past the tv if we wanted to go from one side of the room to the other. The two flights of steps to breakfast and the 50-60 steps from the river but that’s only as I have bad knees.
We liked the view from our room. Room 101. The breakfast on the rooftop cafe was fine and actually good coffee. The towels were large and clean. Plenty of water on offer and could ask for cold water no problems. Great location, plenty of little cafes in the surrounding alleys and right near the action on the water but also quiet other than the regular prayers right next door .

AustraliaMaybe a few street signs to orientate the traveller. I walked to the river and then looked up to locate the hotel. However, the narrow laneways of Varanassi are tricky to navigate, so more signage would be much appreciated. Turn up the laneway from the yellow temple gates.
Dwivedi Hotel is the perfect location on the Varanassi ghats. Importantly, the transfer driver will drop you at a main road. It is up to you to walk to the hotel [15min]. This is all part of the cultural experience, so take your time and explore all that is Varanassi. The management and staff were excellent, warm, and friendly. My air conditioned riverview room had an enclosed balcony, which was perfect, as there are a family of monkeys living in a tree opposite, and although fun to watch, you don't want them in your room. The king bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom had ample hot water. The room boys provided extra towels and toiletries on request; they were lovely, always smiling, always happy to help. The rooftop, with direct views across the river, has beer and drinks on demand and an extensive snack menu prepared to order. Buffet breakfasts were ample and delicious, with excellent service. A la carte items could be ordered. In the evenings, the open plan rooftop is a perfect place to chill. The hotel is a 2-minute walk down to the river. Thank you Dwivedi.

United KingdomAs everyone says, it’s hard to get to the hotel from the road with your bags but google map works surprisingly well so we didn’t get lost.
Great location. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast with view over the river and ghats. They arranged a private sunrise boat tour for us and helped us with bags and finding a tuk-tuk when we left. Water in shower was warm and powerful. They gave us lots of bottled water. Would stay there again but would opt for a room with a view (there weren’t any available when we stayed).

United KingdomIt is difficult to walk in the late night as the route to hotel has no lights.
View from its rooftop eatery place is great to see Ganges, boats & ghats. Good location to experience Varanasi but be prepared to walk to reach the room as it can't be accessed by tuk-tuk right at its door step.

IndiaRooms need to be refurbished. Quality must be improved, to match the price.
It’s right on ghats. The food was too good. Not too oily. Given the fact, we have to walk through narrow lanes for about 5-7 min to reach hotel; this might be deal breaker for some people, but it was worth it. It’s in the hear of Kashi!

United KingdomThe lack of lift in the hotel (with the stairs slightly higher than usual) restricts the elder visitors with walking difficulties to the ground floor. Room size - the overall room size and the upkeep of the rooms feels slightly let down when compared to the price.
Location - the hotel is situated close enough to the main ghat, but away from all the busy hustle of the vendors and main road. Accessing it through rail/airport is a slight challenge as you have to alight on the main road with all the luggage. Since it is situated on the ghat, it is only approachable on foot by a 10-15 mins walk. However, hotel staff tries it best to provide some alternatives for people with walking difficulties especially elders. They also provide bell boys who will meet you on the road and accompany you to the hotel while also carrying your luggage. Food - the hotel kitchen is brilliant. The food is really nice and the staff is really good. they serve with so much love and care. Staff - The entire hotel staff is so good. Neeraj, Golu and others are all very nice people and went out of their ways to make our stay as much comfortable as possible. their local knowledge and networking is brilliant.

St. MaartenI can't think of any.
I like the location and especially the roof top which gave us a great view over the ghats. The owner was very friendly and the hotel's ambiance and furnishing were a perfect fit. We had a great time there. We recommend to ensure to ask the hotel to pick you up, because for a first time guest it is quite a challenge to find it on your own. Our host was very supportive as he had organized two bell boys to pick us up!
