Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOn arrival we were informed we had to pay the full amount in-cash which we had no prior knowledge about. Luckily our rep arranged for a money changer to come to help us.
Our room had a beautiful balcony with amazing views over the lake. Our host Jassu was so accommodating and helpful and available 24/7 if required. He gave good recommendations for eating and drinking.

IndiaThere is no elevator. You have to climb the stairs to the king room on the 3rd floor and the breakfast tables above it. This may be hard for some people.
Superb location, superb service. Walking distance from the City Palace, Jagdish Temple and the Picchola Lake. Clean and economical. Jassu, the caretaker, helps with everything with a cheerful smile. Excellent view of the Picchola Lake from the king room balcony and from the breakfast tables at the rooftop restaurant. There is a restaurant opposite that serves good food and offers an excellent view of Lake Picchola. Overall, Raj Niwas is great value for money.

It’s an amazing hotel, small, cozy, right at the lake and walking (5 min) distance to the main attractions. The view from the hotel is stunning. Good breakfast, room is authentic and very atmospheric. Clean, all the amenities. The service is very good, all the requests were accommodated in no time, very supportive and responsible. Good WiFi. Hard to think of any improvements (only maybe cashless payment methods).

United StatesThis small homestay has only a few rooms and is located right on the main tourist area in Udaipur. Our room was huge, very clean, with a large bay window that gave us a view of the tourist traffic and a glimpse of the lake. Color glass inlays that lit up at night made it very romantic. There was always plenty of hot water. Breakfast is served on the terrace with a wonderful view of the lake. You can choose to have Indian or Continental. The person in charge of the homestay was very nice and attentive and prepared the breakfast to our taste. He even went out of his way to prepare food we could take to our train journey as we checked out very early.

United KingdomI am not a fan of hard beds but then that seems to be very common in India.
This property is located in the old city overlooking the Pichola Lake. Why pay more for a posh hotel when this place has everything you need? Jassu , the manager, is so attentive and attention to detail is excellent.

The host was very welcoming and extremely helpful when u have never been to Udaipur or even india. The rooms were beautiful, clean and cool on a hot day. Had a fridge in my room which was a bonus. Jassu was a perfect host and i will definitely recommend him to friends and i will definitely return to his hotel next time. The location is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. No horns allowed in that area. You wont regret staying here. The town is very clean compared to other towns. Jassu recommends you all the right places, tailors so u dont get ripped off but have the best quality. Definitely ask for Shakir the tuk tuk driver. He was so much fun and full of knowledge and i made some new friends in india now.

Jassu (the manager) is amazing! Nothing is ever too much of an ask, he gave us lots of advice and recommendations and was always lovely to speak to. The room was the best from our whole trip to India. We loved the terrace, well worth the upgrade if it’s available! The hotel is in a lovely quiet little square with two good restaurants opposite and some lovely local shops. Overall it’s in an amazing position & we couldn’t recommend it enough!
