Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyI stayed in the Basic Room, which was simple but had everything I needed. Definitely good value for the price! The staff was super friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome right away. They were always available with tips and assistance, which made the stay very pleasant. The location is simply fantastic – right in the middle of Jaisalmer Fort! You can fully experience the unique atmosphere of the fortress, and many sights are within walking distance. Overall, a really nice stay – I would definitely come back!

United KingdomGreat property inside the fort with fantastic views of the city. After 6 weeks of travelling of India, this place had the BEST customer service. Their rooftop restaurant was the only place that actually bothered to check up on us and make sure our meal was okay. They provided free luggage storage when we went to the desert for 2 nights and allowed us a very late checkout, when our train wasn’t due until midnight the following day.

United KingdomShower was only Luke warm whilst we were there but this may be due to showering in the morning and wasn’t really an issue for us.
One of the best guest houses we have stayed at throughout our trip to India! Staff are wonderful and will help with anything you need. We booked an overnight desert safari with them for a good price, which was really great. Rooms are very pretty and thoughtfully dressed. Guesthouse is right inside the Fort with lovely winding streets all around it. There are two wonderful terraces with comfy areas to relax or enjoy the view. The food is also very good. We would definitely return to Sagar if we returned to Jaisalmer in the future.

South AfricaSagar Guest House is perfectly situated along the fort wall of the old city, a short walk to the palace & Jain temple. Prim, the manager, is a delightful human being! Very helpful and kind. Sagar's gentleman chef makes the most delicious food & the rooftop restaurant is a peaceful, beautiful space to relax, eat or just hang out. Our first hot shower in all of Rajasthan!

NetherlandsThe bathroom wasn’t very clean - the walls were not clean and the window towards the outside had an old toothbrush, cigarette, and hair clump in it. But again, for the price it was ok :)
For the price, this place was great.

New ZealandNothing, just be aware there are some steep steps. My father-in-law managed with help of the staff - thank you!
Super friendly family and staff! Special shout-outs to Hindu and the owner's son (worried I'm misremembering his name). Hindu was careful when helping my father-in-law (70) up the stairs and made sure he was OK - a very kind and caring person! He also helped us with getting to the auto with our luggage. The son (friendly and easy to talk to) took my sister and me to spots around Jaisalmer, which was a definite highlight! Great location within the fort, just ensure (especially in Jaisalmer) to conserve water. The view of the fort from the rooftop is unmissable and a definite highlight. We loved the Golden City and our stay at Sagar. Furthermore, I had some items shipped from a local shop to my departure city of Kolkata. There were delays and the shop kept saying they would send it the next day but didn't. After a week of this, I contacted Sagar for help and they immediately contacted the shop to get it sorted and Paresh sent the tracking number to me. Received my items quickly after that. It was a huge relief and really shows how they go out of their way to help guests even after we left. Thank you so much!

AustraliaNothing.
I'm super impressed with the staff. Their impeccable service and hospitality are worthy of 6 stars! I left my waterbottle (a Grayl) in my room and only realised once I had checked in at the airport 17km away. Without any questions, Paris's father drove to the airport to hand deliver my bottle. Amazing service!!

AustraliaThe front room was a little noisy, but nothing too challenging. Paris, the host kindly gave me a room at the back of the hotel for our final night.
Lovely rooms, clean and comfortable. Hosts are very helpful and friendly. They organised a overnight desert safari on camel that was awesome. The roof top provides fantastic views and good food.

From the moment I stepped into Sagar Guest House, I felt completely at home. The family warmly welcomed me and made me feel like one of their own, going beyond providing a place to stay by supporting me with various needs—including assistance with shipping and offering kind moral support after a challenging experience in the previous city. They also organized a fantastic desert safari for us, which was perfectly planned from start to finish. We enjoyed exploring local villages, riding camels, and marveling at the breathtaking sunset, evening stars, and sunrise. They ensured we were well taken care of throughout the safari and even provided a comfortable space to relax and freshen up upon our return. I originally planned to stay in Jaisalmer for just two days, but the warmth, care, and comfort I found here made me extend my stay to eight days. If I ever return to Jaisalmer, I wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else!

NetherlandsThe building is quite noisy, so you can hear others talk in their room. And in a window sill up high someone had left a cigarette bud. But besides that everything was very clean!
Location is amazing, in a ford. Service was great, I got picked up from the fort entrance and dropped off at the bus station. I did a desert tour via them, which was incredible. They had many tips and tricks and were very hospitable. The roof top is also a beautiful place to chill.

IndiaSagar Guest House is a, delightful place to stay if you're visiting Jaisalmer. Right inside the golden fort, with a rooftop and windows that offer sweeping views of the battlements, the city and the Thar beyond. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff courteous and helpful. Mr Paresh, the young manager, is knowledgeable, efficient, reliable, friendly and can arrange any local tour you wish to take, including a desert safari at their own camp near Sam. The cafe upstairs serves good food. Don't miss the delicious chai, and the sunrises.

United StatesGiven the narrow (very narrow) streets of the old city, there's no access by car. We walked the last 0.5 km into the fort and to the guest house. The owners arranged for our bags to be brought from our car to the guest house.
This quaint guest house in the old city of Jaisalmer is actually built within the walls of the thousand year old fort. Cosy, traditional home. The owners are nice and hospitable. And the tourist attractions of the city are all within a few minutes walk. The bazaar with vendors hawking all kinds of trinkets and crafts is right in the lane in front of the hotel.
