Nothing much to complain about. Clean and basic is what I think this stay is all about.

Jeetendrabhai and Shikhadi are exceptionally good people. They can instantly make anyone feel comfortable and I would rate Shahi Riverview as a good stay because of them. The rooms are very basic but the location is right on the ghats of Assi. And the view is really awesome.

Sahi River View is a great place to stay..The roof terrace is a nice place to have breakfast or a tea..from there you can see Assi Ghat..just a 1 minute walk..it is also very convenient that the cars or TukTuks can almost drop you at the doorstep..no need to carry your luggage through the old city.. I really enjoyed my stay and can totally recommend it. If you are a light sleeper you'll hear the morning activities at Assi Ghat..but it is also a short walk to join in..some free yoga at 6 in the morning.. In the evening you can also watch the Ganga Aarti ceremony..

I really enjoyed this lodging. The location with central yet peaceful and separated. The staff was wonderful, relatable, friendly, and also engaged yet aware of personal space. There are many steps up to the hotel so might be tough for mobility-impaired guests (although it looked as if they were renovating some downstairs rooms closer to street level for 2025). Assi Ghat used to be a quiet area but is now a major domestic tourist site - mornings can be loud and there is a lot of traffic (foot and road). It can be a bit of a circus. On the upside, the street food is excellent and locals are unfazed by foreign tourists - the vibe is friendly.

This is a quaint and tidy guesthouse in the old-fashioned Varanasi style - better than a backpackers place but not crazy fancy, which was all we wanted. Entrance is tucked into a little side lane, and balcony overlooks the action of Assi Ghat. Our room for two was simple but clean and secure, and sufficient for our needs. The staff are all extremely helpful and friendly. A nice retreat from the hubbub of the city!

Shower was more of a thin drip, but at least it was hot! Sheets are small, and though we were sharing a bed we each got our own separate small twin sized sheet. You can probably get a cheaper place, and you can definitely get a nicer place, but this was a nice middle ground.

Best part was definitely the main property manager Jit, who was kind, warm, and helpful. His calm easy going demeanor was just a relief amidst the craziness of Varanasi. You can see Assi ghat and the Ganga from the rooftop. Our room didn't really have a window or a view, but because it was off the street it was actually pretty quiet. Not a lot of the best food, shopping, or sights are nearby, but a tuktuk up to the old city is just 100 rupees. Air conditioning worked well.

Views are overstated and the rooms can lack exterior light. The hotel is quiet, and well-located, but to get to their protected spot you have to walk down several alleyways littered with food garbage and animal poop.

The place is on the Assi ghat so it has an amazing view of the river. Its breezy all day so you will love your mornings. The rooms are clean and has all the appropriate facilities. The owner is extremely supportive and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone who is planning their trip to Varanasi and don’t want to live in the busy streets. This place is peaceful and connected to all the transportation. But yes, you’ll have to climb few stairs to reach the hotel and the room.
