Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Really nice and comfortable stay. The room was clean and quiet, great shower. I had the Kerala breakfast every morning and it was delightful. Saj was a great host, informative but not annoying you know.

Great place for exploring Fort Kochi. Host was very helpful. The family were very friendly. The room was a good size with good a/c and facilities. Host recommended Mary's kitchen for meals -really good.

Bit noisy.
Good location. Easy walk to everywhere in Fort Cochin. Bit noisy as on a main road but we requested a quiet room which Saj kindly provided.

We had to climb two flights of stairs to get to our rooms. Although staff helped us to carry our luggage. There was no tea-coffee arrangement in the rooms.
This was a homestay. Saj, the owner was a very friendly and helpful person. The staff were very hospitable. The bathroom fittings and plumbing all worked very well. The room was very comfortable. The location is excellent. All the main attractions in Fort Kochi were within walking distance.

Saj is a brilliant host - good information & recommendations. Perfect location in Fort Cochin. Saj connected us with drivers for visits & kayak trips in Alleppey Nice guy, fantastic local knowledge, great English. Lots of useful things ( international adaptors in each room, mosquito spray , hairdryer etc) I recommend you contact Saj in advance for advice & he is v commercial. V responsive & helpful

There is a lot of street noise. Our room was at the back of the building so it didn't affect our sleep, but the breakfast area is not quiet.
As has been said by many people, the owner Saj is very helpful. He arranged Kathakali tickets for us and a car and driver to Periyar and the backwaters. There is an ATM on the premises which is very helpful if you have just arrived in India. Breakfast was great with lots of fresh fruit.

On quite a chaotic busy road, but only a few mins walk to the main bit. Room decor was ok, but not great. WiFi was a bit in and out in room, but generally worked well. A lot of mosquitoes.
Saj and his staff were very friendly. A few mins walk to the main bit of Fort Cochi. Refillable water. Decent shower. OK breakfast. Nice balcony, though over the busy road.

A little bit noisy from the street and not cheap compared to other places
The owner was extremely helpful in making suggestions both for Kochi and for our further trip. The room and bathroom were good, clean and nice, the Indian breakfast was delicious

Our stay at Saj homestay was perfect! Saj was so helpfull and knows how to organize a good tour. We booked the backwaters tour and we went to Munnar. It was great! Also the breakfast is delicious, location is great and room is very comfortable and clean :)

I had a great stay at Sajhome! The property is well located within a central area of Fort Kochi - just a few minuets walking distance from all the cool spots in the fort. The property owner was really helpful and provided recommendations for sightseeing and routh planning. The room was clean, had all the basic amenities needed, and the wifi was working well. Breakfast was excellent, with a choice between Indian or Continental breakfast style.

Saj and his wife were wonderful hosts to us. Their home is clean and beautiful, the breakfast is great, and the location is perfect for getting to all of Kochi’s best-known tourist attractions. Saj was also extremely helpful to us in planning the next leg of our trip and arranging a driver to take us around Kerala. Saj went out of his way to make sure we had a great trip!

Our shower in the bathroom only had a small curtain covering only one side of the shower, so after showering the whole bathroom was flooded. Since I booked through booking.com, Saj added booking.com's commission on top of the advertised booking amount, which I think is not supposed to happen. I understand that taxes are not included in the advertised amount, but the commission should be included in the advertised price to avoid unexpected surprises.
Saj & his staff were great hosts and gave good guidance about sights and restaurants in Kochi! Both days the breakfasts were super-delicious and very affordable (250INR per person and day)! AC worked well. Drinking water was provided in reusable bottles, reducing plastic consumption. Saj organized a cab from the airport for us.
