Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Breakfast was boring. Needed to be different types of bread. Needed more shade by pool and too many chairs not working

Toilet seat is way too high !!! And toilet flush does not work properly, Shower is way too small !! Bathroom layout should be rethought Bathroom walls were dirty Dirty sun loungers (bird faeces) never cleaned during our stay Really need umbrellas at the swimming pool (the sun is very strong in January) Please do not wake up clients at 9AM to ask them if they want breakfast (nice thought but please refrain)
Very comfortable bed Small balcony Mini fridge Very friendly staff always looking out for you Swimming pool in the sun a few hours a day in January Breakfast included (continental + indian) They let us sleep in the lobby when we arrived in the middle of the night and there was no room available :) Very close to the cliff, the restaurants and the beach

Couldn't have had proper breakfast as more than half of the food and drinks were over.The view wasn't as good as in pictures, and also all the lights were not working. It's not so worth for 7k.
The interior was beautiful.

there were power cuts during the night and the tv automatically turns on with loud noise and no floor mats on the room, best part is you need to handover your car key if you parking your in the hotel

On being upgraded, we were ecstatic, and marvelled at spacious area with twin balconies. There were two Televisions, one in Living room was not having any connections and other one in bed, was such a small TV with horrible cable connection completely spoiling the ambience of the suite. Bathoom area is well laid out, Jacuzzi was a welcome one after tiring journey, but the accompanying overhead digital shower was not working and hence we didnt get hot water option. As such, its difficult to fill the Jacuzzi everytime, we intimated this matter to Housekeeping and maintenance guy came and left to check outside and didn't show up. Later the same was intimated to Manager Mr Praveen (hope its correct, since name in mobile shows Pravi) He assured that the guys are working on it ... and he left by around night time without any query or feedback. In the evening, our dinner choice of dish was sought, and asked to prepare by 9pm, opted for dining in Restaurant to have it fresh and hot, but even after being only two families available in restaurant, they couldn't serve the pre-ordered dishes till 9.40pm, the serving staff looked helpless. And the reason is funny _ There are lots of Room Orders!!!!! Wow, and here we foolishly came to restaurant rather than opting for Room service. We left the restaurant and those helpless guys assured to deliver it to the room which took another 20 minutes. No complaints about food, but taking SERVICE as granted and COMPLACENCY in attitude is sure to make this property lose its face. If the owner is reading, I sincerely feel there is something seriosly wrong in all those Reviews which hail the Service.... I would like to visit and stay at this property again, only on assurance of change in Staff Behaviour -in the sense of solving grievances and Service!!! Other wise Thank you!
After seeing a lot of good reviews, we (including wife and daughter) decided to check out Sajjoys. A good property within walkable distance from Varkala beach. Check in was smooth and Asst Mgr intimated that we have been upgraded to Suite instead of Sup Twin room. A Good swimming pool is also available, but we didnt make use of it due to time shortage.

Apart from the staff's gesture and cleanliness, the hotel has nothing to mention here... Seems the indoor/outdoor activities and other amenities mentioned in the hotel website were seldom exists.. Felt the price is too high for just the room and the breakfast..
