I found Candolim itself quite busy and touristy

A very comfy bed and spacious room (I recommend getting one of the ones with a balcony), ideally located in beautiful gardens, with a very short walk to the beach

I’m an early morning person, and breakfast didn’t start until 8am. Dinner didn’t start until 8pm. Our room was at the bottom of the stairs, so we did get quite a bit of noise of people coming and going.

Nice pool, small walk to the beach, but also close to the street with restaurants.

An excellent independent hotel, the staff are fabulous and incredibly friendly. Rooms are well equipped and well worth going to the extra cost of having a balcony to enjoy the evenings, I would recommend room 504 as closes to the beach and not overlooked by any other rooms. Breakfast is basic but fine. Access to the beach is a 3 minute walk. Really happy we chose the De Mandarin over one of the “resort” hotels, the perfect place to stay for the first week of our holiday.

None comes across and value for money

Absolutely perfect for families with teenagers who will need some privacy as well and the family room with 2 bedrooms and a living area was super nice, service is great, limited spread at the restaurant but with lot of eateries around you cannot blame. Just a short walk to the beach and we were well taken care for 3 nights and 4 days.

The room we got room 503 if we’d arrived at 1.30pm instead of 1.30am would not have accepted it. Garden view was facing a half built building asked for a move but as busy due to holiday not possible. There are no seating areas if you go for a deluxe Room and views from these are only if you open the main entrance door so be warned. Reception staff were not helpful and wanted us to upgrade at an excessive cost.

Nice resort, breakfast good, head chef was lovely and prepared you any food that you required. Location was good very central but it’s not a four star accommodation as it lacks the basic guest experience.

I stayed in a standard room and got one facing an old house. I kept my curtains closed all the time for privacy.

Water pressure in the bathrooms can be better. More towels can be provided, given that this is closer to the shore. Common areas near the suite can be maintained better.

The rooms were super clean. The pool was very well maintained and clean. The breakfast spread was good, and the food overall was tasty. The staff were courteous and responsive. The bathrooms were clean. Six of my family stayed in the family suite with a pool view. Extra matrresses were put in the living room. There was enough room to accommodate us all. It is a walkable distance from Candolim beach, though the path is a bit bad and can't be used at night. The approach from the main road also isn't very far. Overall, it was a great stay. Would recommend it for families.

The staircase towards room should not be cluttered with housekeeping material , it does not speak well of housekeeping management. The intercom nos. of reception ,housekeeping are not displayed near the intercom. If these areas are improved it would be perfect.

Location very near to candolim beach and the happening area of candolim. The place is quite and serene with a decent vibe . Good , helpful staff in front office , restaurant and housekeeping .

Could have been cleaner, especially the bathroom. Lots and lots of mosquitoes in the room when we arrived and thoughout our stay. Wouldn’t use the pool as it didn’t look clean. Breakfast selection was poor. Things in room didn’t get replenished, toilet roll for example.

Sumptuous breakfast with courteous staff. The pool is well maintained, however is little smaller. Rooms are spacious, clean and well amintained. The Beach View Villa is amazing.
