Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Serenity Inn Homestay near Dal Lake, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by the warm and friendly family who run the homestay. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, bringing me lots of hot water and constantly checking that I was warm and had everything I needed. The room was clean, cozy, and incredibly comfortable—perfect for a little getaway near the lake. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Dal Lake, making it easy to explore the area. Despite the chilly and rainy weather, I felt cared for every step of the way. The family’s hospitality truly shone through when the brother kindly dropped me off at the airport, braving the rain and cold. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Serenity Inn. It felt like a home away from home, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming place to stay in Srinagar.

Malaysiathe location is a bit to fat in and the streets was bit far hectic. near a lake where ppl board for dal lake excursion so you can imagine how chaotic the road towards place. at night it gets really quiet so if heading out for dinner can be quite a hassle unless you pre book a tuktuk in advance.
it's nice and newly renovated. we hope it maintain as it is. the water heater is hot enough. I like the sink with hot water flowing as it comes in handy during winter.

I had a wonderful stay at Serenity Home Stay in Srinagar. The rooms were beautiful and exceptionally clean, providing a comfortable and cozy environment. The hospitality was fantastic, with the staff being incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. Although it’s a bit farther from the front side of Dal Lake, the peaceful surroundings made it worth it. Would recommend for anyone looking for a warm and welcoming stay in Srinagar!

SingaporeLocation is a little off the main road and it’s a little hard to get transport in/out.
Very comfortable stay and the hosts are very kind despite some language barriers. Indian food portions are too big for me alone, so I had takeaway leftovers twice which the host mum helped to heat up for me. Most hospitable stay I ever had in India! Their Kashmiri tea is so delicious! Also, bonus point to their lovely persian cat :)

IndiaProperty- Authentic Kashmiri with pinch of modernisation. Bedroom-pretty Interior ,clean room, comfy bedding. Meal-Authentic Kashmiri meal we ordered and it was well justified. Host-Mr Shahid(humble person-like a brother vibe,he twice picked us up late night on our short notice without charging us.) Ms Tabish( loving, helpful and gracious lady) Mr Snowbell(Persian cat-cuteness overloaded) Their parent-Humble ,caring Kashmiri. Location-it’s bit of a walk from Main Street but it’s worth it as dal lake ghat is few meters walking distance from property making it ideal . It’s home away from home. I don’t believe their could be any other better place to live in Kashmir

United StatesHard to find initially but my taxi driver called Shahid and he met us on the main road.
I never leave reviews but the stay here was so incredible I had to. I was a little skeptical when I booked because there weren’t many reviews and the photos and location looked too good to be true but given that it just opened, I thought I’d take a chance. So glad I did. The family is incredible - it’s a true home stay in that everyone in the family pitches in and made me feel so welcomed and looked after. As a single female foreigner they went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of and comfortable. I was treated like family, given tips for the best local restaurants (for Kashmiri food), shops (ask about the 140 year old rose water maker), sightseeing (outside of the touristy things), and even invited to join them for noon-chai (salty pink chai). My international SIM card didn’t work in Kashmir so Shahid let me use his. I was able to use their scooter to see the city and drive around dal lake. He even dropped me off to take a shared taxi to Pahalgam. Location wise, they’re right next to dal lake - you can take a shikhara ride from right outside the home. It’s centrally located yet quiet. And there’s a bread maker right across the alley which supplied my daily breakfast. I booked only two nights and ended up returning for two more after Pahalgam. I’m not exaggerating when I say they’re my Kashmiri family.
