Rooms a bit tired with bathrooms very dated Felt constantly pressured to give gratuities Steps very steep in many places so would be a problem for guests with mobility issues

Set in palace like building with beautiful courtyards and pool area Some rooms with great view of lake Restaurant with varied menu and lovely setting Peaceful refuge from city in great location adjacent to palace

The basic rooms are rather disappointing and somewhat remote from the main facilities although are spacious. I think a suite would be much better.

The hotel is very impressive, lovely facilities for example the dining room, pool area and being able to walk through the City Palace at night returning to the hotel is amazing. The Jagmandir Island restaurant on Pichola Lake (part of the hotel) is well worth a trip to.

A royal stay with historic charm, but not quite worth the price

It's a little bit of a trek getting in and out of the hotel as it's on a hill and within the high-security palace grounds. The hotel provides a complimentary buggy service to the palace gates until 11 pm, which is thoughtful. The rooms are dated, and the whole property has an old-world charm, so don’t expect many modern amenities, but everything worked as it should. The restaurant offers a great dining experience, though it is quite expensive. If you’re on a budget, you’re not missing out on much—especially since you can still take stunning photos when visiting the publicly accessible areas of the palace. Additionally, there are no lake views, only city views, and the rooms aren’t particularly spacious.

If you want to experience staying in a palace, this is the place to be—it’s actually part of the City Palace and owned by the Royal Family. You can wander through beautiful grounds, enjoy exclusive access to certain areas only open to hotel guests, and relax by a stunning marble pool. We also had a great time playing squash and snooker.

The information and rules can be better explained. The staff at the main city palace gate could be more courteous and better spoken when asking for identity or passes for entry. There should also be a fitness club which surprisingly wasn’t there.

The location and the rooms were very good. The staff at the hotel premises were very good and helpful.

Beautiful place, we saw some regular rooms which looked a bit outdated but the suites are magic

Divali made our stay extra magic because of all the festivities, flowers and lights. We stayed in room 4 which is one of the most magic suites of the hotel. It was a bit of an investment but definitely worth it. We felt like royals

The room seemed to have no windows. It was very dark. The area in front of the room had a ceiling height of the reception. It was not an open and spacious room. The pool was very small. The breakfast ala carte option was very few.

Everything was charged for the guest also, even the city palace museum tour. I feel this could have been omitted. The promptness of the staff was not upto mark we had to wait 20-30 min for the golf cart.

The cleanliness, on the point service
