Loved the whole warm & eloquent ambience of the Cavalry! It was an impeccable experience for a homestay- loved the royal aesthetic & splendour of the beautifully designed place. Would highly recommend this place who would love to travel to the city of Udaipur! The location is at the heart of the city- so extremely convenient and an exceptional hospitality from the kind, warm-hearted hosts who left no stones unturned to make our stay utterly comfortable! Also, I would fondly remember the deliciously handmade breakfast- which felt like the comfort of home food! Thank you so very much for a lovely time!!

Very well-appointed and spacious room. Convenient location to major tourist spots (City Palace etc. just 15 minutes away) and good restaurants within walking distance. Scot Colonel Ranawat and his wife were wonderful hosts. It was indeed a privilege and pleasure to meet them and chat over a wonderful breakfast. Felt like home!

We had a great time at Cavalry. The room was large, clean, very well appointed and superbly comfortable. The rest of the property is also wonderful with lot of pictures and memorabilia of the family's history. Colonel Udai Bhan Singh was a very kind host and made us feel very welcome. He joined us at breakfast and shared some wonderful stories of his family's history and roots in the City. The location is about a 10 min rickshaw or taxi ride from the City Palace and Lake Pichola and there are a couple of nice restaurants nearby as well.

From the moment we stepped into Cavalary, it was an enchanting experience. The property itself is an epitome of design, blending traditional Rajasthani elegance with contemporary comforts. Every nook and cranny is adorned with taste, creating an ambiance that is both inviting and sophisticated. But what truly sets this place apart is the warmth and care extended by the Col Udai sir and family. Their genuine smiles and heartfelt welcome made my wife and myself feel instantly at home. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, anticipating our needs and exceeding expectations at every turn. We were served delicious hot breakfast which easily had 3-4 items like, poha, paratha, fruits, sharbat, omlette, cake etc. (Every day is a new menu which is being managed by Ma'am). Caretaker Pawan is also cordial in nature and is quick to assist as and when needed. Adding to the property’s allure is the rich tapestry of its history. It's clear that the family's deep-rooted history in Udaipur, as descendants of the Mewar dynasty, has instilled in them a profound sense of hospitality. Recommend this property for people who are looking for a home like comfort. It is conveniently located to all the major hotspots like markets, restaurant etc. @Special Mention. - If you are fan of vintage vibes, a historical place where you like to indulge in storytelling, Udai sir is your go to man. He even showed us around the property which was sweet of him. His son, Kalp too was forthcoming in every way possible. It was my birthday and he went out of the way to receive my parcel and keep it with him as we were out for dinner. It's these small things that can make up for a 5 star experience for any traveller! I had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. The owner is very nice and gave to me advices on where to go during my stay. He organised a taxi for day trips outside the town. The staff is also very nice and gentle, and the breakfast is so nice and home cooked. The room was very large and comfortable. The mattress was also excellent. I would highly recommend The Cavalry. The location is slightly outside the buzzing area of the old town which also makes it quieter, a short Uber away from the old town.

Our stay at The Cavalry was extremely comfortable. The process was smooth from the booking to checkout. We were given a room upgrade because of some technical issues with the original booking, which was a pleasant surprise after a long day of driving. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The house has seen many summers and the charm of the home outcrops from under all the new renovations that has been done on the homestay. Col. UBS Ranawat is an amazing company to have. He is nothing like the steorotypical image of an army man. He is the gentlest person you'll come across. We shared his stories of his time in the army and his regiment and missions during a lovely breakfast. His son Kalpshakti was also very helpful in answering all our questions as well as entertaining our requests. I'd highly recommend their homestay for anyone who is traveling to Udaipur and for any number of days.

We had the most incredible stay at The Cavalry Abhay Nivas which is a beautiful and well maintained property. Traveling with a 2 year old, we did not feel like we were away from home. The hospitality here is like a warm embrace from a friend. Colonel UdaySingh who owns and manages this place regaled us with tales of his remarkable journey in the armed forces and it was truly a delight interacting with him. Breakfast is home cooked by his wife and each meal felt like a culinary masterpiece prepared with love. You'll savour every bite, trust me !!! Mr.UdaySingh also hooked us up with the local travel contacts who took us around all the important touristy places. It was like having our own personal tour guide to explore the city at our own pace. In conclusion, this is not just a place to stay; Mr.UdaySingh and his family have crafted a haven of hospitality that deserves all the accolades. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on this hidden treasure and it's the kind of place that lingers in your heart long after you've left.

Nothing that I did not like.

Fantastic facility, well maintained property, rooms, cleanliness and housekeeping -just t well appointed rooms, facility location is close to Pichola lake, Hathi pole and all major tourist destinations. Top of the mark home stay. Moreover, the host is very kind, helpful and welcoming. Personalized service and warmth never gives you a feeling of staying away from your home. This my stay met all the parameters of home -stay. Will rate breakfast 10/10. Warm, tasty, perfact portion, and presentation which makes you very happy and satisfied. I will highly recommend visitors to consider this facility over any others in Udaipur. Comfortable, safe, high quality service, cleanliness and hospitality by Col Ranawat and his staff was top of the line. Am looking forward to staying at this property again, for sure. We enjoyed our three nights at The Cavalry. Since the first moment, we felt comfortable. The colonel and his son were welcoming and charming at all times. The curfew hour at night was the only inconvenient we found, though they were flexible in the end. Nice stay in Udaipur!

There were too many steep stairs to climb after a long a day of traveling around the city. The entrance to the property could be improved.

The location and rooms were amazing and extremely comfortable. Our host was also very hospitable and took time out to talk about the history of the place.
