Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaThe rates were higher as compared to other places in the vicinity. Also the breakfast experience could have been improved by having ready availability to tea/coffee, juices, milk cornflakes, fruits etc

United KingdomNot much, my husband adored the walkers/ climbers vibe of this small hotel. One day we took our room key out with us and the bed hadn't been made up when we returned.
The food was excellent here and alcohol was a reasonable price. Stunning views if you chose the right room, comfortable bed. Almost adjacent to the Norbulinka Institute and a few little shops close by should you fancy a wander. We preferred this part of Daramshala rather than the super busy MCleod Ganj

AustraliaNot a major problem, but the property is quite a walk from anywhere (apart from The Norbulinka Institute). We were happy to get a taxi to take us out sightseeing, so would suggest that as an option. We liked the fact that it was a but out of the way
The Divine Hima was delightful. Very different and quite quirky. Sanjay and the staff were great. The food at the restaurant was varied and tasty. As there are no restaurants near there, this offered a great option. We felt very much at home.

IndiaI found the tariff a bit on the higher side.
A very comfortable place with a personal touch of the owner. The place is full of interesting, captivating and unusual artefacts. One can spend a lot of time exploring the different corners of the property. Talking of food, the menu was rather limited, but just right. Definitely worth trying.

IndiaTublights in otherwise beautifully appointed rooms are a bad idea especially when they share common wiring with focus lights that have been put up to light up the artwork frames. The bed mattresses were on the softer side but comfortable nonetheless. My personal preference is for something that offers a bit more back support.
Sanjay has poured his soul into The Divine Hima - his collection of stones (former geologist), his photographs and lots of other small collectibles. Lobby is very aesthetically done, as are the rooms - very beautifuuly done up. Some balconies are obviously bigger than the others but thats in keeping with the rooms which too are all different with their own names and character.. The food is delicious - tried various himachali dishes and wood fired pizzas- everything was just delicious. The check-in and check-out experience was very comfortable and efficient. There are literally more than a 100 types pickle which you would love to try. The location is in sidhpur off dharamshala-palampur road, literally a 100 meters away from the norbulinka insititute. Beautiful bird songs to wake up to every morning - this place is a jewel and i will definately be back for more.

United KingdomRooms very cold on arrival and could have been warmed ready. Rooms not serviced because we apparently had to ask for this but that was not communicated to us. Some meals were cold and for one the meat was inedible. The meals were delivered randomly to us and so we were eating at different times - some of us finished before the others started. Parts of meals (mainly breakfast) would be forgotten. The menu is too extensive. We chose from the Indian sections but parts of those were not available. On our last night we waited 90 minutes between order placement and food delivery. We were also asked for 700 rupees if we wanted the fire lit - never been asked this in any hotel or haveli we have stayed in before.
Good location near the Norbulingka Institute. Staff tried hard. Some meals were good. Beds were comfortable. Staff brought extra heaters after we complained about the poor heating.
