We booked 6 rooms in total one of which was for our personal driver and security/ assistance. Our rooms also included breakfast for all guests. However when we came down for breakfast the member of staff at the breakfast area desk wasn’t happy about our driver eating with us. Member of staff through that he’s was eating without paying, we then showed him that all room included breakfast and he is one of the guest. Overall that member of staff was not pleasant to be around

The rooms were clean however there were too many mosquitoes in the lobby area. Front desk staff and house keeping would not buy or use mosquito spray to kill turn off.

An excellent hotel within walking distance of Sarnath archaeological site and museum. There is a good restaurant on the ground floor and a bar on the rooftop patio. The pool is still under construction or repair and will be a welcome addition. Staff are helpful and some speak very good English.

The Front office staff was very rude when we reached the hotel. There were no greetings from her side and the way she was communicating seemed like she was not interested in her job. Secondly the food provided by the hotel restaurant was not up to the mark and the hotel didn’t allowed food from outside the property.

House keeping staff and the room service staff were very decent and helpful and the location of the property is great as it is situated at Sarnath.

Lobby does not have ac/light/fan in night. - feels unsafe/very hot. Breakfast This was something they could have shared , they want to charge high but quality is not on par with their desired competitors. For one they could have guided buying poori subzi + tea will be as costly as full breakfast. The whole idea of not being able to order external food - 5 star hotels allow that everywhere. When we arrived late for checkin as flight was delayed - they did not have option and not allowed food order from outside The travel desk seems to charge higher than bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi for day rental. There also seems to be little bit of gouging involved. The room themselves were sort of clean with towels but little expensive for the given money. I would rate this as 2-2.5 It is also out of the main city - and you need dedictaed vehicle to goto city center

The washroom facilities were not good. Hand bidet by the WC was not working. Only handful of napkins were there to wipe hands. Bathroom facilities and cleanliness could be improved.

We extra booked the place to have a swim after a hot day. Unfortunately, the pool was filled with algae and no usable at all . The hotel is far out of the central station, and without a usable pool not worthwhile staying there, I would have preferred somewhere more central

Driver's facility was awful..... I travel a lot and normally with this kind(standard) of hotel, you would expect decent facility for the drivers. I had to arrange separately for my driver at the last moment and the manager kept on justifying that drivers room is kept that way only Lamest thing he said was "hum log bhi usme hi lette hain aisa hi hota hai" Room had one bed and barely moving fan We asked what if someone else is sleeping there then manager said "usko jaga dijiyega" They didnt even tried to arrange anything And restaurant item's rates are unreasonably high as per the taste and quality

The staff at the reception is not very helpfull. We asked to arrange a taxi in two occasions and the only thing they did was to give a leaflet of a taxi company. The hotel is also far from the Varanasi centre. At least 30 minutes drive.

The Fern Residency has nice clean rooms with good beds. The restaurant is good and it has a nice rooftop bar with a pool. The staff in the restaurant was friendly

Traveling time to the main temple area was longer as the initial review stated the actual distance was 4.9 kms whereas it was actually more than 8-9 kms

Location was a little further from Banares (or Varanasi) city center than we expected, and, during rush hour (which is 9a-10p) the trip into the city was significantly extended. Additionally, the bathroom was slightly outdated and needed some new grout lines. There is not much to see in the immediate area of the hotel, so no great views, and a wedding procession outside of our window was quite noisy as we were on the street side of the hotel, so note this when selecting a room for your visit.

The interior of the hotel is much more inviting than the exterior, and the restaurant on location is convenient, especially considering how far it was from Banares (or Varanasi) city center. Restaurant had a lot of options for Western and Asian travelers, and was open late, which helped after a long day of excursions. Room was comfortable, well stocked with affordable snacks and beverages, and a good value for the price. Staff was helpful and patient with us as we were in and out for excursions each day.

Bedroom are not soundproof, could easily hear noise from corridor outside bedroom when people passing chitchatting specially in my room that’s just next to elevator.

* we found Washroom sink jammed , was resolved though very quickly * similarly the shower drain was not flowing properly * found stains here and there, so not very clean. Will add some pictures. All in all I felt that the infra needs more maintenance. And the existing staff are doing more than the best to overcome that.

All the Staff is excellent. In fact they make up for the other infra issues which I found. Food is good Location is also good. Finding local rikshaw is very easy. Dormitory for your car driver is available

Our room smelled of Cigarette smoke though it was a non smoking zone. We called the staff but it couldn't be contained. The Supervisor himself came and attended to the issue. Also they were always short on cash when returning balance money for any item purchased. Though the change to be returned wasn't much, it should not be the case.

It was close to all the important tourist attractions of Sarnath. Good spread of food at breakfast and meals.
