Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesOne of the biggest "Deluxe" rooms with occupany of 4 adults had very bad odor and it stink bad like unkept toilet. Tried using exhaust fan but even after running it all night to and using a room fan, it was difficult to survive the night. I asked for another room but apparently all were occupied. The bathroom in the room also had water seepage which was probably caused the issue I hope the management takes my feedback seriously and corrects the issue or take the room off the site. Not suitable for any guests
The size of the rooms, the breakfast and the proximity to the Taj

United KingdomAt 7 am each morning loud music from the gym below starts and drowns out everything in the homestay for around 2 hours. There is no mention of this by the owners in the property description. As for the surrounding area, and I know this is outside the owners control, it's squaid. Work on the new Agra metro has turned the area into a huge building site. When it rained during our visit there was mud everywhere. There is no warning of the construction works
The room was clean and had free access to the kitchen area

RomaniaFirstly, the room was very cold. Although we were provided with a very small heater, it wasn’t enough to keep the room heated, you’d have had to keep it on non-stop which wasn’t safe. Secondly, the bedsheets were definetely not changed before, only ironed to make them seem clean, which they were not. Bathroom shower was really rusty and the bathroom itself was outdated. Moreover, we asked for a taxi to be booked for us as we were leaving early in the morning for the train station and the owner charged us 500 rupees for the trip, which normally costs around 100 rupees. When we argued that it’s a rip off, he said that this is the price of the taxi company and he has nothing to do with it, although later on, when we paid for the accomodation, he also included the 500 rupees in the total price.
The garden is the only thing that we liked about this accomodation. Breakfast was also decent.

IndiaNo elevator so it's not accessible. But the staff carry bags up and down
I have a high standard of cleanliness that most Indian hotels do not provide. But this place was incredibly clean. The room and common space was very nice with very pretty decorations.. They provided a nice homemade breakfast of aloo Paratha and poha and toast. Because it was a more communal way of staying in a new place we got to chat and meet new people.

United KingdomThe only advice I would have for Hideout Agra is to make it clear that the downstairs building site is not the homestay! There was no noise from this but when you walk in for the first time it is in front of you and could be hidden by a cloth or tarpaulin to avoid any confusion.
We loved the hospitality of Dr. Rituraj Pathak. He is very welcoming, speaks very good English and gives helpful tips about how to navigate Agra (which could be a bit daunting for Europeans). In particular we loved the breakfast and dinner at Hideout Agra, but our favourite thing was the life-changing Indian spiced tea made by Lokendra. We will definitely try to recreate this at home! The staff were very lovely, including others we did not get the names of. Thank you also to Rajesh for the great tour of the Taj Mahal. The rooms are basic but very comfortable. There is hot water in the shower.

GermanyIt was raining a lot and so we couldn’t enjoy the nice terrace. But of course that’s not the homestays fault ;)
We had a really great stay at Hideout. The room was beautiful, everything was really clean, the staff was really friendly, breakfast was plenty and the owner took a lot of time for us. He gave us some good and helpful tips for the city and sightseeing. When our taxi to the train station was late, he helped us a lot so that we didn’t miss the train. The walk to Taj Mahal took 20 minutes so it’s a good place to stay if you want to be there early in the morning.
