United KingdomNice place to stay. Modern and clean. Helpful staff. Check in and requests for your room are managed all through a web app which might not work well for everyone. The staff do help you with it but can slow things down . The hotel has no outdoor seating area but I believe they are building one. Western breakfast options limited - just fruit and toast. No jams or pastries - hotel is not the lowest price around so would expect a better selection.

CanadaIt is a bit removed from the key areas, but it is relatively easy to get around.
Beautiful property and the nicest of the Hostellers we stayed in. The room was spacious, clean and peaceful with a beautiful valley view. Staff were exceptionally helpful and great to deal with. Food in the cafe was delicious. Would absolutely stay here again.

IndiaThe only thing I did not like was the breakfast poha which had gone cold and which was not very authentic with its bits of capsicum and no sev. But whatever other food I ordered was good.
The vibe of the property is very pleasant and cheerful. Though the room (deluxe double on the 5th floor) is not extremely big, it is tastefully furnished and has a really good view from the big glass window that occupies an entire wall. One can enjoy a wonderful sunset from here and also a wide view of the snow peaks. The cafe has decent food which can be ordered through an app. The staff is warm and helpful. I would especially like to mention Mohit Puri who took very good care of my onward travel from Shimla. The mall is within comfortable walking distance from the property.

CanadaPrepayment is required, and this is buried in the fine print. I am ok with this, but if you're traveling it's just one more thing you could miss. Check-in asks too many questions and takes a while. You have to complete it yourself online when you arrive.

IndiaWe had a nice experience at The Hosteller Valley View. Excellent brand new property with a Panoramic valley view thru big glass windows. The cafe provides very tasty pure vegetarian foods. The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. Contact less check in and check out available. Centrally heated rooms with clean bathrooms and essential house keeping items. Fast customer service support(if any issues with booking)

I liked the location, the room decor, the ambiance, amenities, and the view from the room. Everything was perfect. The staff was very cordial and prompt. Mr Nitin and the chef were very courteous. We had to leave fairly early on the last day before the breakfast started. But Nitin and the chef made sure that we get our breakfast before we left. The dinner and breakfast were very good. The only disappointment was that this facility is ONLY VEGETARIAN. Pankaj and Mohit at the reception and travel desk are extremely helpful and made our stay enjoyable.

AustraliaThe disappointment can only be attributed to staff service, management systems and accountability. For example, staff having to be directed to stop slamming doors and talking loudly in hallways in the early hours of the morning is not acceptable (more than once). The identification of official Hosteller Staff - as when I engaged in a conversation pertaining to a concern an unknown person attempted to interject and provide advice, the transport manager - explained on booking car transport to another Hill Station 'his driver' - was explicitly aware of the drop off location - unfortunately - the driver attempted to drop us off at another location (town) and had no idea as to where our accommodation was - after we had shown the drive not less than four times throughout the journey. The repeated use of credit card as every meal / service requires accessing the Hosteller app and paying individually increasing card costs to the individual. When booking accommodation - we were alerted our card was not valid by booking.com however, our card was valid as the Hosteller payment system sits outside of Booking.com and uses a second party provider and when attempting to contact Hosteller to confirm booking and payment we only received multiple generated responses.
The Hosteller, Shimla Valley View - offers panoramic views and well-appointed rooms.

Indiathey kept saying card is declined while it is working fine and the stress of booking being canceled is uncalled for. Then, we are only allowed to pay through their app/ site which adds on additional razaorpay charges which came to additional 500rs!! Don't know if this is to keep booking out of the payment but it is a hassle for the customer.
