Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing!
We had the pleasure of staying 5 nights at the Neem Tree. Tucked away off a busy road in the old city, it’s a truly relaxing, calm oasis; the photos don’t do it justice! The City Palace and Jagdish Temple are a short walk away and there are plenty of restaurants close by too. The attention to detail in the decor is stunning. Helena, the very welcoming owner, told us that she had 5 stonemasons alone working on the build for 2 years - we weren’t surprised. Our room was spacious and spotless, with a very comfortable bed. My husband appreciated a dip in the pool each day and we enjoyed our breakfast in the courtyard. There were cereals, a variety of fresh fruit and cake on the buffet table, and cooked food (Western and Indian) is available to order. I had the best poached eggs every day! They also provided a milk alternative for my husband’s lactose intolerance. Helena organised a visit out to the countryside for a guided hike which really enhanced our time in Udaipur. We felt very much at home in this gem of a hotel. Thank you Helena and Chandra for a wonderful stay!

United KingdomNothing at all.. the only minor thing I would suggest is slightly bigger towels!
Such a beautifully designed property, from the gorgeous bed spreads to the lovely bathrooms. By far the best place we stayed on our India trip and great value for money. The hotel is located opposite an alleyway that takes you straight to the palace and is within easy walking distance to some great restaurants recommended by the hotel. The host Helena and her manager are so helpful, organising airport transfers, massages on site and even a super interesting palm reading. If you’re coming to Udaipur you should definitely stay here.

CroatiaPool is there just for the ambience it seems. Should be cleaned to be used. Have in mind a car probably can't bring u to the property but that wasn't an issue for me, place is rather tucked in from the busy streets which is great :)
Just stayed at this awesome hotel and I loved it! The room was huge and super clean—felt really nice to get back to the hotel and relax. The bed was so comfy, I slept like a baby. And the staff? Seriously, they were so polite and helpful, made me feel right at home. The owner really pays attention to details so if u are coming to Udaipur - look no further...Would totally stay here again! Bonus points for a great breakfast and a massage u can arrange in the hotel!

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing. We enjoyed everything about the Neem Tree - they’ve got it just right.
The property was an oasis of calm in the middle of the old town. Helena and her team were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They really went out their way to make our stay extra special. I was feeling pretty ill when I arrived at the hotel and Chandra (the manager) offered to have some food prepared for us to prevent us having to go out and also provided some lemon, honey and ginger tea. The property is well appointed, the decor and furnishings are tasteful throughout and it is immaculately clean both inside and outside on the courtyard. We also enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace for breakfast. There was a range of fruits, cereals, yogurts provided in addition to cooked food including eggs. In conclusion, not only is the Neem Tree a wonderful property but it is excellent value for money.

United KingdomI liked everything and it is not often I write that in a review.! However it would be tricky for someone with walking disabilities as the access is via a short steep road for approximately 150 metres from where a taxi would drop you off. However, someone from the Neem Tree would happily meet your taxi and carry your bags.
Helena was the perfect host. This is a beautifully and sympathetically restored haveli in the Old City of Udaipur. We initially booked for 4 days but spent another 2 nights after a 3 day trip away. There are a total of 8 rooms. Helena and Chandra (who helps Helena run the place) made us most welcome from the moment we arrived to when we left. Chandra made us great breakfasts everyday, which we ate by the lovely pool or under the Neem Tree. All the staff were very friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed the daily 0815 yoga classes in the rooftop shala. We ate dinner at the property on 2 evenings. I loved sitting on the rooftop late afternoon, with great views of the City Palace. OK, you are not by the lake but we had plenty of opportunities to have a meal or a coffee overlooking Lake Pichola, which is only a 10 minute walk away.

United KingdomNothing to dislike.
The Neem Tree is a perfect serene gem in the middle of a bustling city. I have spent 4 days in Udaipur, sadly 2 days really unwell with respiratory bug and Helena, Chandra and the boys were super attentive at all times. The tours they arranged for me were perfect and I really felt safe and taken care of during my stay. I cannot recommend it enough,

SpainThe wifi was weak but other than that, there really isn't anything I didn't like. This hotel is just too gorgeous to have anything bad to say at all.
What a pleasant surprise. This little hotel is beautifully appointed. The room was huge, the bed supremely comfortable, the linen just right. The whole hotel is decorated with a fine eye. Let me tell you, in the heat of Rajasthan, the fact that there was a swimming pool meant that we could go around on foot exploring the local area and then we could cool off in the pool. The food was excellent. The staff was friendly. It was a little oasis in the heart of Udaipur.
