Booking hotel car and driver for transport didn't always go to plan.

Good location and within walking distance of Palace of Winds, City Palace. Lots of tuc tuc availability. Generally a busy area but all part of the experience.

When we first arrived, we were taken up three flights of stairs and told it was the new wing. It had no elevator service when we arrived and the room looked like a corporate office with super bright lighting and ugly, cheap looking furnishings and doors. Big but so unsightly and not one bit of beauty when so much in India is beautiful. They really should redo it with a talented interior designer. I complained and we were switched to a Heritage room with elevator access. Very charming and old school with lion head beads and seating. Much happier.

Breakfast was in a lovely room and was fine. My partner said dinner was delicious but I was sick that night. The manager was very helpful when I got sick and called in a doctor and nurse to tend to me. He was attentive and on the job. Very much appreciated that. The front desk guys were very friendly. Fresh flowers everywhere. Once we were moved to a heritage room and not the monstrously homely new building we were happy. Lots of fun things to view at the hotel.

The wifi connection was very poor. At this price point you expect everything to be perfect. Lots of people are here for business reasons and rely on the internet.

Beautifully maintained gardens and buildings. Lots of gorgeous art and furniture. Room was very comfortable and clean. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

A faded and jaded old place. Rooms were tired and did not have the facilities of a 5 star hotel in room. Spa was closed. noise from Construction woke us up early in the morning. Bathroom needs a deep clean.

Lovely staff, all friendly and helpful. Hotel was in old town. Food was very good. Was nice to see an old palace.

The overall service was good but didn't have anything standing out for it given this is a heritage hotel. Breakfast was average, too. The hotel rooms need some upgrading and fixtures too.

It was very close to the Jaipur old city and great for ease of access.

Wifi was poor, and I had to use a hotspot. Would have liked an additional casual dining option.

Wonderful location, and a very nice place to stay with only 50 rooms. The rooms were large, and very comfortable, and all in all a great experience! Staff and service were very good! Breakfast buffet was included, and all meals were handled in the same restaurant. The Kabab restaurant menu was available but served indoors due to winter.

Raj palace My only criticism is that on arrival I was disappointed with our room whilst the marble bathroom and antique furniture are beautiful the room is in need of redecoration but the level of service we received during our stay certainly made up for any initial disappointment. The pool area isnt what it could or should be

Raj palace Arriving at the Raj Palace you receive a very warm and enthusiastic welcome from the hotels team, you are given a very nice Strawberry drink which after long hours of travel is most welcome. The Raj is steeped in history its beautiful court yards, plentiful statues, turret’s, antique furniture amazing chandeliers, what I will remember most about my stay at the Raj Palace is its staff who looked after us with such warmth and kindest nothing being too much trouble. The waiters always asking how spicy we wanted our food, breakfast is good value and tasty it set us up for a day of sight seeing. The food is varied and the service swift. Reception staff always very accommodating helping us with taxi arrangements making sure we got where we wanted to be. My only criticism is that on arrival I was disappointed with our room whilst the marble bathroom and antique furniture are beautiful the room is in need of redecoration but the level of service we were received during our stay certainly made up for any initial disappointment.

Three issues that MUST NOT happen in a 5* Hotel of this price level: - The Gym is basically non-existant. Equipment from the last millenium on the verge of breakdown, no water or towels, and a dysfunctional AC (does not cool despite switched on an hour prior to training) results in 35°C in the gym. - Issues with the warm water in the room: Shower water did not turn hot twice. Room service fixed it instantly, but took them some time. - Horrible smell (of urine) coming out of a sink in the floor next to the toilet. Luckily, the toilet had a door separating it from the bathroom.

    - Probably the most polite and helpful team I have seen in my life. - Food excellent, Cocktails good. - First actually good Coffee I had after three weeks of India (with an Italian Espresso Machine)
