Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Absolute perfection. The culture of service in this hotel is the best I have ever come across. The Thali in the Swapna Mahal is the best Indian meal I havd ever had. And the barman makes an excellent Negroni. I will be back. My wife will insist on it…

Saint Kitts and NevisThe heater didn't work, it blew cold air. The toilet seat was broken. The cook could not make proper scrambled eggs. The head waiter had a bad personality. He was very unfriendly. The hotel was too expensive for what it was. Over rated as a 5 star Luxury Hotel. Should have a 3 star rating.
Not much of anything

AzerbaijanWe did not like our stay probably because it was a winter time. The matter is the hotel is made on the basis of an old Palace which is big and made of marbles. Obviously it is difficult for the property to heat the rooms in winter time. Moreover no hot water was available in the bathroom to warm up, it was not hot enough. Plus internet connection was not stable.
Breakfast and dinner was very good, we liked the location.

United StatesFor such a historical property owned/lived in by the royal family, the Taj Palace really ought to be maintained better—including both its interior and exterior areas. The potential for Raj Palace is very high; for us, it unfortunately missed the mark as a “small luxury hotel of the world.” The owners/managers should look at the Samode Haveli for inspiration on how it’s done. Featuring great-grandmother’s-house-meets-foreign-hospital-waiting-room mood lighting, the musty accommodations were decorated with subpar furnishings and super worn and disjointed soft touches. While the pillows were comfy, the bed must have served as a torture device in the 18th century. The toilet and bidet should be replaced along with a stronger vent for countering nature’s ever-prolific “aromatherapy.” There was some sort of unmarked heritage display inside our room that was set behind a glass door. This door was secured by a prison padlock (similar to the one used for locking our room). One might think that a locking system like this is charming only until they realize that they can be locked in their room from the outside. Once trapped, the only thing to keep yourself entertained would be old Bollywood music videos from the 60s-90s, since the management team/captors have not subscribed to any common popular channels of our current era. Enough said re: “Breaking Bharat.” The “gym” has many things that need to be worked out as it is severely substandard. The massage and “spa” areas are worth dodging to maintain your health and wellness. The pool looked pleasing and clean, although, we didn’t have time to take a dip. Potted plants could have had pots; it would add to the ambiance. Bar area could be more welcoming and open past 22:50; if you have a guest inside, it’s kind of odd to just leave them there alone. Something to think about. The puppet master on the premises was apparently a vendor—and a bit persistent at that.
The staff was very welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. Dinner was excellent. Breakfast was good. Yummy chai masala. Again, it was the wonderful staff who made our stay at Raj Palace.

CyprusWifi was poor in the room but everything else was so perfect that it doesn’t bother you that much! You can always find good signal at the restaurant area!:)
Location was excellent! The whole place is gorgeous! The food at the restaurant is amazing and the staff there, was super friendly! The staff at the front desk especially Dharmveer and the guy at the door were AMAZING!!! I can’t say enough about them! They helped with EVERYTHING we asked for and always with a smile! Came with us to the atm, helped us with our transfers to and from the hotel, which was difficult because the day of our arrival all the main roads were closed! The guy at the door (i wish I remembered his name) always greeted us with the biggest smile and we can honestly say we will miss him!! We will definitely return♥️

GermanyThe wifi does not work equally well in all parts of the complex.
It is a former maharajah's palace from the 18th century. The splendour of bygone days is still palpable. The whole complex is very spacious, sumptuously furnished and like an oasis in the hustle and bustle of the hectic city. The staff is very friendly, courteous and helpful (for example, they organised train tickets for us, which is quite a difficult task in India). The whole hotel exudes the charm of an old grand hotel, you feel a bit transported back to a bygone era. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast is rich (you choose à la carte, there is no buffet, which we found very pleasant). The pool is located in a small courtyard, where you are mostly alone. The hotel is very centrally located in the centre of Jaipur; for example, the City Palace is only about ten minutes away by taxi. We can fully recommend this hotel. Despite its size, its history and heritage make it a far more individual travel experience than comparable hotels in this price range from larger hotel chains.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing. Everything was insanely good, well prepared and far from gimmick-y.
The rooms were impeccable, the property was mostly empty and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The single best stay I’ve had in India so far. Don’t miss out on the kebab platter at the Swapna Mahal restaurant.

IrelandEverything and we mean everything. The hotel is more beautiful than the pictures can show, the staff are warm, attentive and brilliant at their job and the tranquility offered in that heart of Jaipur makes this a truly special place. The Raj Palace is genuinely our favourite hotel we've ever visited and we were sad to leave.
