Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The bathroom can be better vented, specially because Iceland water always smells like sulfur :)
The location of the apartment/hotel is excellent, near the famous church. It has a nice and popular café/bar at the ground floor near the entrance (but no noise or anything like that). The apartment is spacious and well equipped. We (3 friends) stayed only for one night and it had everything we needed. Very comfortable beds.

There was no elevator and we had to take our bags up 3 flights of stairs without any help from their staff. Would have been nice to know before hand. It was great otherwise!

The apartment was very expensive compared with all the other places we stayed in Europe.
The location is perfect for walking around Reykjavik and although fairly small the apartment met our needs for a family of four.

Music venue or bar very close to the large bedroom side (Room 502). Played loud electronic, heavy bass music until 4 am on Friday night. Would be good to note this for others.
Spacious, good location central to everything, has all the essentials. Good for kids.

Apartment was a in a different building than the hotel, just across the street. Everything was a little dated. No lift to get up to the room. Could use some refurbishment. Room layout was a little odd. Worked, but a little funky.
Easy access to the commercial areas of Reykjavik on foot. Apartment was very clean. Easily large enough for three people. No issues finding street parking was nearby

Parking was rather difficult, even in the off-season.
24/7 staffed front desk, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Location fantastic, right in the middle of downtown. Rooms are cozy (welcome to Europe!) with comfortable beds and a desk each. Everything was perfectly clean, and the bedding was quite comfortable.

great locations. it is not a typical hotel but for a family having the space of an apartment is great. a quick walk across the street to the hotel lobby and restaurant if you need something.

Could have done with mirrors in the bedrooms
Apartment is perfectly located to be able to walk to most places of interest in Reykjavik. Shops & restaurants nearby and pick up point for tours at bus stop 8 is only a couple of minutes away. Close to the church whose spire can be seen from all over. Comfortable and warm inside, lots of windows so light and airy. Would highly recommend.
