Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No breakfast served in low season and not too many options around in Höfn.
Spacious and very clean room with an extra large bathroom. Everything working without issues, easy Self Check In anytime. Free coffee/tea facilities, yoghurt and cereals available.

Very nice and affordable option to stay in Hofn. The self check-in worked very well. The kitchen and eating common area is very nice. The room was very comfortable.

The pizza place across from the Odin gas station....the salad was amazing but the pizza was the only bad food we've had since arriving in Iceland 2 weeks ago.
Ideally located on the main road into Hofn yet very quiet. Spotlessly clean, good espresso, complimentary, and only a block from a beautiful seaside walk with glacier views.

a nice extra compared to other guesthouses is the cereal/yoghurt/milk breakfast. Location is close to sea (no beach but nice walks) and close to centre and harbor with restaurants. Supermarket is across the street..

I say the same about this place every year. It's spot on every time we visit. Ideally located for Verstrahorn and has really cool vibes. Rooms are always spotless and comfortable, plus the showers are always hot! Breakfast consists of endless amounts of cereals, yoghurts and coffee/hot chocolate.

Friendly owner, nice rustical place, coasy rooms, comfortable beds, small, but clean bathroom (in every room). A kitchen for all to use, free caffee, tea, milk and cereal. Great place to spend the night. Close to shop, pharmacy and a great restaurant.

The room was very comfortable. The beds were cozy. The owners and staff were all very friendly. The shared kitchen was well equipped, very clean, and I was a big fan of the free coffee. It is in a great location in Hofn, everything within the city is in walking distance. We had a wonderful view of the Northern Lights from Hofn too.

The coffee machine is awesome. I love hot chocolate so much! They provide yogurt and milk for free. Rooms are clean. The kitchen provides everything I need.

Some of the furniture could use replacing and it seemed water had leaked into the bathroom after heavy rainfall

it's a good location in hofn and was closeby Mart Netto. The host was so kind and helpful. Although it's guest house, all room had a shower room in the each room. it looks like hotel. i took pic with host. i will definately visit next year. The simple breakfast was so good for the guests.

The guesthouse has a cozy vibe with modern equipment. We had booked a double bedroom and got a bigger room unexpectedly which was very nice! Everything was new and clean. They offered free hot drinks like hot chocolate and cocoa from a machine - the best after a day outside in the cold.

This guesthouse is a bit bigger than others we stayed in, so at some point it got very loud. A water in the shower was a bit smelly, but I guess this is normal in some places in Iceland.
Clean and had everything we needed. Well equipped kitchen, basic breakfast provided with good coffee. A host was very helpful. We booked a small room for 2 and ended up getting a big room for the same price, it was a great surprise! Hofn itself is a bit of a ghost town, but it’s a pretty stop on the way.

Wi-Fi was very spotty and not great in our room.
Well stocked kitchen and plenty of tables for guests. Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. They offered yogurt, milk, coffee, granola and cereal in the morning which was awesome.
