Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyI stayed here when I traveled through Iceland the first time and it was the first guesthouse I booked for the second time. The hosts are amazing and make you feel like you are visiting friends in their home. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy, they have a hot tub with great view of the northern lights (if you are lucky) and still serve the best breakfast in Iceland. Hope to come back here to stay for longer.

United StatesAbsolutely nothing!!!
One of the best bed and breakfasts we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many in many countries. The location was quiet and off the beaten path so when we had a clear sky we had our first of four sitings of the Northern Lights. Breakfast was outstanding and we had dinner with the hosts as well for a very reasonable price. Arnie and Hrepna were terrific hosts. Would stay with them again in a heart beat

United KingdomI have stayed in many five star hotels around the world and none compare to this beautiful guesthouse. You walk into a cosy homely heaven. All the breakfast is homemade and the most beautiful home decor at every turn. We had two children with us and made to feel very welcome. No one should spend one night definitely atleast two and it will be your favourite accommodation the whole holiday.

Hrefna & Arni were the ultimate hosts and made our short stay beautiful. We loved their guest house which is located about 7k outside of the city in a beautiful spot. It is quiet and calm which we loved. The house is like "going home" and I would suggest a longer stay if possible as you won't want to leave. Our room was comfortable, well appointed and bed very comfortable. But the best part is the morning farm to plate breakfast with fresh fruits. homemade breads, lamb pate, cheeses, the list goes on. Hrefna loves food so if you do to this is the place for breakfast which is included. We obviously didn't want to leave.

Best guesthouse in Iceland! Hrefna and Arni are the nicest hosts you will ever encounter. The guesthouse is very stylishly decorated. Lots of chill spots outside to enjoy the sun during the summertime. Beds and rooms are perfect. We received nice tips for activities in the surroundings. GermanyThis is one of those rare accommodations that make the trip even more beautiful and where you can better get to know and feel the country and its people through the owners of the guest house. The guest house is located in a beautiful location. Its setting is fabulously relaxing and beautiful. Everywhere you look, there is a beautiful detail, an accent, a mood. One evening I chose to sit in the hot tub. The owner filled it fresh for me. It seemed that time had stopped - fresh water, a wonderful view of the valley and I sat in the bath longer than I had originally thought. Time had stopped. Breakfast is very special because the hostess prepares it with love. And conversations at the breakfast table are like home. The morning starts with freshly prepared delicacies and coffee.

SloveniaWhat truly sets this stay apart was the personal touch. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in warmth and hospitality by the hosts, whose genuine friendliness made us feel at home right from the start. Not only was the accommodation impeccably clean and beautifully furnished, but the added bonus of a geothermal hot tub outside provided the perfect relaxation after a long day of exploring. And then comes the exceptional breakfast. Featuring local and home made specialties left our taste buds craving and dreaming for more up to this day. We even had a chance to share life stories with hosts and talk insights about Iceland over a breakfast and that truly touched our hearts. It actually became one of the highlights of our whole trip in Iceland. If you're looking for a lovely and cozy retreat with genuine warmth, truly incredible food, and a chance to connect with locals, look no further.

FinlandBy far the most priceworthy stay we had during our 9-day Iceland visit, if you travel around by car and plan to visit Akureyri, I really urge you to stay here if there is an available room left. There's a lovely local host who immediately welcomes you as if you were coming home, it's impeccably clean with all amenities included. However, the breakfast really was the crown jewel during our visit and it throws a long shade on the other 7 breakfasts we had during our visit. The freshly home baked bread, spreads, fruit platter, berry-youghurt cocktail and small treats where simply unmatched and delicious. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer and that once we arrived we were too tired to really make the most of the night we spent there (i.e. taking a dip in the hot tub filled with geotermal water that they offer). If only possible make sure to make this a two-nighter and hurry up and book your stay!
