Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI should have read the schedule better and square footage. It was a very small bedroom and tiny bathroom with a fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave all stacked up in front of the bed. No separate sink (you need to use the bathroom sink). I had expected more of an apartment with a more separate kitchenette area. So that was a shock. However as long as you are expecting this - apartment is good. I am relived we didn't book the shared penthouse apartment as that would have been like flat sharing. If our stay had been longer than 2-3 days I think this would have felt too small for us.
Inside was beautiful. Good interior design. Much more cosy than other places we stayed in iceland which often tends to be minimalist. It was small but well thought out with plenty of plugs, hooks etc. The owners were attentive although we didnt see them apart from a battery change. when we complained re noises and men loitering down stairs they checked this quickly and put our minds to rest. It was nice having a microwave/toaster/fridge to use. especially as super markets close by The beds were comfortable and firm. Location was great as right in the middle of downtown. Though I can imagine in summer it maybe a bit noisy with tourists

South AfricaArrogant, rude, unfriendly staff not willing to assist with anything. By far the worst service I have ever experienced. Someone else had access to the room and walked in while I was there. They said it was the maid, but there was more than one person. Also if it was the maid, shouldn't they have knocked first. Unsafe!

Australia1. We booked for three people, and there is only 1 bed and a sofa which was not made to sleep on. The expectation was for us to make the bed ourselves. The bedding and towels were stored under the bed for an unknown amount of time and were stale. 2. It stated there was a 24-7 reception when we booked, since then it has become apparent that it is a self service establishment. We were unable to leave our luggage anywhere prior to our checkin. This was a key decision information for why we picked this location. 3. Our code was provided was not working. This left us out in the rain until we received a response with a new code. Even though we had a message we could store our bags at 11am. 4.Towels and bedsheets are stained with dirt and looks/smells like semen. Bedsheets have holes in them.
The location is very central.

United StatesThe only negative, which was a really big negative is that the lock on the second floor to access our unit on the third floor failed multiple times during the day and through the night and friends were locked out for hours at a time. This happened to us multiple times. The lock must be changed. All 9 of us at different times had problems. The contact was responsive but it was a problem when it happened in the middle of the night. Also, a staff person walked into the flat unannounced and my friend was half naked in the kitchen. They need to improve privacy and respect that when rented you cannot enter like that freely. Considering how much we paid for the third floor unit the above is totally unacceptable. We should have been reimbursed partially. All we got was a 2 hour later check out.
Steps away from restaurant scene and night life, central bus stop 6 only one block way for any type of pick up, grocery store and the waterfront; the private terrace is an amazing feature we used and we saw the northern lights from it; amazing large space in the rooms and the common area in the photo. True to photos and description. The cleaning crew was excellent. The place was spotless. They did a great job. This is an excellent choice if you are a group of friends or multiple families that want to be all together. You can cook and save money this way. The lighting is beautiful in the flat and the rooms are super comfortable and modern. Every room has an onsuite bathroom.

Italythe private bathroom was outside the room. private, but outside, so if you have to pee in the night you will wake up your parner getting back in with the door code saying "door open" and the bathroom door is in the kitchen area, so not ideal
The location is great, and the room has huge windows so there's light a nice street view

United KingdomThere’s a bar above (or near) which plays loud karaoke very late! It was challenging getting to sleep because of it and I wish I had known this before booking. Hopefully it’s just a weekend occurrence (we only stayed Friday night).
Really comfortable, clean and nice communal area with appliances

United StatesRooms are extremely small, the extra bed for our third person wasn’t made. No front desk service (no help getting a taxi). There are a billion pillows on the bed and the room is so small that there is no place to put them when you want to get into the bed. No room for luggage in the room. No place to store luggage at the hotel. We had to take a taxi to the bus station to store our luggage, then walk back to town. There are other, better and more normal places to stay in Reykjavik. This one is a hard pass. Also $$$$$$$$$$
Great location, nice common area.

United Kingdomvery noisy night with fellow guests upstairs having a full-blown party! and as this is a self-service accommodation there was no one on site to address this. I had to call the number of the management of the property well past midnight to make a complaint. the person on the phone sounded like she was out with friends. after explaining the situation she said she would send someone to check but it was well over an hour until they were able to stop the party. we had little rest because of this. if you’re looking to book this area due to its good location, I’d highly recommend looking 1 or 2 streets away as it will be a lot more peaceful and less noisy. on a Friday night that area of the city was full of drunk locals and tourists, not a good impression of an otherwise pretty small town.
nice and modern

ItalyWe used the place just one one night, arriving late and leaving very early. Firstly there was an incident with electricity, we were trying to use the iron in the morning and it causes have of the apartment to loose electricity, my partner still needed to shower and it was a problem. I called the contact number and found out that the control cabinet is in the room nr 7, we were in room nr 6. So to get the electricity back I had to wake up the couple in room nr 7 at 7AM. They very nice and understanding and we got the electricity back. Over the phone call I got to know that this has happened before, but other times it seemed to be caused by USA devices that the guests have brought. This time it was the iron from the apartment, so I suggest the owner to check the plugs! Second and more disturbing was the discovery in the morning that we have been sleeping in the bed were the bed sheets were the same from previous guest, without washing them. They were dirty! Since we arrived late, we were so tired, and we did not noticed it in the evening. And 100% sure these stains were not from us. Not acceptable at all!
location is good and central, it might be loud during the weekends as it’s next to some bars and pubs. Easy self check-in Common area looked nice and cosy, unfortunately we did not have time to use it. There is possibility to use washing machine and dryer.

Germanyfirst off, it’s on the 2nd floor, so quite some stairs to climb with our suitcases. no elevator. the bathroom is more than tiny with no window or ventilation. out shower was dirty, hopefully not something that happens all the time. since it’s in the middle of the busiest street with clubs and bars, if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place. we stayed 3 nights, one of them on a Saturday. the first 2 nights were ok, although noisy. Saturday was something else. there is a karaoke bar below, and boy, they sang! The highlight was someone walking into our room (which is secured by a supposedly personal code) at 2.45am! we got an excuse and that’s it. I would have expected a little more effort. especially since our night was over by then. could have all been a very unlucky stay, but well… we were glad it was our last. the first 2 nights however have been comfy. it’s a cute place
comfy room and beds. obviously it’s right in the middle of everything by the rainbow road. great location, although parking is very expensive there. I recommend leaving the car a little outside of the area in parking zones 3 or 4 which are way cheaper . the common area was nicely done as well.

IcelandAdvertised as apartments and rooms when it's clearly a hostel. Room was very small and only place for tv was above the entrance door, not comfortable to watch at all. Our room door had no sound isolation, felt like we had no privacy. Could hear everything people where saying in common areas and they could hear everything we where talking about in our room. There was no heating in the room, was cold when we arrived but there was provided an old oilfilled electric oven with broken wheels and melted plastic on top and was suposed to be plugged in an extension socket. Not safe and far from Icelandic standards! Room and bathroom was porly renovated. Obviously not made by professional carpenters. Feels like a typical place where "greed" goes over quality.
Comfortable bed. Big windows/bright room. Excellent location, loud on weekends tough witch is expected due to the location.

United KingdomThe room we had faced onto the main street - whilst it was a nice room on the whole, I would advise bringing earplugs if you are planning on staying on a Friday or Saturday as the bass from the nearby venues is very loud and continues until the early morning.
Great location in the centre of Reykjavik. Good communal space with some basic cooking facilities (helpful for saving some pennies in Iceland!). Convenient to access with keyless entry and a nice terrace outside.

IrelandI don’t think it is suitable for family. It is on very busy street. Family couldn’t sleep due to loud music until 4 am. When we complained we were provided with ear buds. Even the size of the room is not suitable for a family. It is basically a room for two people converted by removing some furniture to make space for a bunk bed. Toilet and shower were too small. Shower sink was blocked. Their website mentions free breakfast but except dry cornflakes, granola there was nothing in bkft.
Staff were polite
