Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SlovakiaRoom air was stuffy. The "bed" was just a mattress on a floor, but at least was comfy as well as sheets. Some of the bathrooms were not clean.
Nice spacious place with many bathrooms.

BrazilThe beds at the bottom of the bunk bed are at floor level, and I thought this was very bad, especially as my bed was next to the entrance door. Every time someone entered or left the room I felt like I was about to be trampled on. I think they could put sockets for charging your mobile next to the bed. I had to wake up at 5am, and had to walk around the dark room to turn off the alarm on the phone that was charging on the opposite wall, I felt bad for disturbing the other guests sleeping in the room. Also, I'm a woman and I shared a room with 3 men, I don't know if there are rooms divided by gender, but I wasn't given that option when I made the reservation.
The staff was nice, the shared facilities were clean and good, and it's located at the main bus terminal which for me was very good as I had to catch the 6am bus to the airport.

Portugal-around 20 minutes walking from center town. Not much to do around the hostel and only one small convenience store around 15minutes walking. No restaurants around. -not the hostel fault, but some of the other guests might be from cultures that are not much respectful to others and might make noise until late. Again, not the hostel fault and kind of one of the cons of going to a hostel
- convenient for tours, as most will start here. You can also catch the bus to the airport straight from here. -6 bathrooms with shower each in the second floor, which helps makes it easier to find one not occupied -in general, the facilities were well kept and clean

IrelandThere was no bedside lights in the room, only the main ceiling light. The kitchen was sometimes messy.
We stayed in one of the private rooms and it was comfortable and warm. The bathrooms were close and they were clean. The kitchen is well equipped which was handy as we cooked for ourselves few times due to high prices in Iceland.

PolandWe had a really good stay! We booked an individual room which was clean and comfortable, especially the beds, but the bathroom was common, yet very clean and close to the room. We could use the kitchen on the first floor. The staff was really helpful. This hostel is a common place for activities and excursions to start from there (the bus will come to this hostel to pick you up). It was a 20-minute walk to the center. There's one small shop 10 minutes from the hostel. We highly recommend it!

United StatesIt’s a bit of a walk to the center. There’s no restaurant or grocery store close by unless you walk about 20 minutes to the center. No heat in the room. There was no towel in my room even tho it was private. I thought they would offer more for a private room but no. I thought the price was too much for what you get but hey it’s Iceland everything is expensive there
Property was clean. All tours start and end there so that was a plus. I stay in a private room so not sure what it is like in the dorms. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Easy commute getting to and from the hotel to the airport, it’s just one bus which is about an hour ride.

BulgariaThe lockers were difficult to use. You need your own lock, but mine was too small to lock it.
I was in a room with 20 beds and it was super clean and comfortable. There is a 24/7 desk and the staff is always super helpful. Kitchen, many bathrooms and toilets, hairdryer, many tables and sofas in the lobby, enough sockets, coffee, water. It was my best hostel stay so far. Even if there were always ongoing tours and many people there, it was quite enough to get enough sleep/rest. Good location and walking distance to the center or most of the attractions. Highly recommended.

They offers tours (Golden circle, Nothers lights...). The kitchen well equipped. Buy the food before the trip, because It's expensive in Iceland. We shared a room with 4 beds. Czech RepublicThe shared kitchen could be better equipped (we did not like the plastic cups - put our coffee rather in glasses; and knives could be sharper too; some people failed to wash the dishes after they were done, which cluttered the kitchen; also, more sinks in the kitchen would make it easier for multiple people to use it at the same time). Not too many parking places but we were lucky to find a spot for both nights.
Well located near the city center. Busy place with many travellers coming and going. Spatious tables for e.g. laptop + a beer (available on tap in reception desk). Enough shared bathrooms, we never had to wait for someone to vacate it.
