Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesNot really any decent markets nearby to buy supplies and snacks. Not that I could find anyway? They pointed me to the closest one (still was a 15 minute walk) but it had a very limited selection. Same with cafes or restaurant's. They all close early.
It's at the bus station so it's super convenient and... THEY HAVE BEER! The people working there are very helpful and friendly.

IrelandThe hostel has all the facilities one might need and the night bus to the airport leaves from there. Very friendly and helpful staff. I stayed there a couple of times and I always enjoyed it.

IrelandThe bar on site has prices which even on happy hours are higher than regular night prices in town - clearly taking advantage of tourists who just got to Iceland and think you really pay in gold for a pint (you do, but not THIS much). Reception desk is fortified with several computers blocking visibility of staff working behind them, even tho there were usually 2-3 staff max members at a time -that make them look unapproachable (nonetheless, nice staff). Comfy beds are lacking privacy curtains, so if 1 out of 10 people in the dorm blocks the sunlight at the window to get some sleep, everyone else has to deal with it. Not enough electric sockets in the room. Kitchen cleanliness could be checked in the evenings, and ambient music would be beneficial in the common areas upstairs. I work in a hostel myself so these are the points l would change to improve the place - but overall it is a good/very good hostel I do recommend. Thank you for having me.
The most spacious bathrooms l've seen in a hostel, with a great privacy level. General feeling of place being clean and new. Nice, functional lobby with huge windows. Comfortable bunks. Handy location to take trips as some tours would pick you right from there, a bit awkward to walk to town across the motorway though.

MexicoThe area is only convenient if you need to take a bus, there's not much else around it and it's a 25-minute walk to the downtown part. The beds were not great and they only provided a small blanket. I was cold. They charge extra for towels. The general vibe of the place is okay but not particularly inviting or interesting.
Spent one night there because I had to take the airport bus at 3 am. In that sense, it is highly convenient. The bus was parked right in front of the hostel's door, so you just had to walk out to take it. Staff was friendly. The room was large and had a nice bathroom next door.

Czech RepublicThe curtains can cover 2/3 of the window at most. This was a problem already in late august, cant imagine trying to maintain some dark in the room during high summer... Quite expensive, but I guess that is Iceland...

MalawiThere used to be a place for "free food", where people who are flying out can leave their food behind. Very unfortunate that the staff of Bus Hostel took it away, this is a great way to not waste food.

GermanyNo towel provided. Plugs only on some beds. There is only one small kitchen for the entire hostel. The common areas (including the bathrooms) are ventilated to the point of being chilly, while some of the rooms don't have much ventilation, only a small window.
The purpose of this hostel is right in its name, and I think it should be evaluated by that. This is not the hostel for exploring the city center for a week, this is the hostel to catch some sleep the night before or after your flight. And it fulfills that purpose well, the buses are literally right outside the door, the reception is open 24/7 and offers coffee, tea, some snacks (and beer), the beds are comfortable. I also want to praise the staff. The room I got initially was uncomfortable to stay in due to a very inconsiderate guest; when I talked to the reception about it they immediately gave me a bed in a different room. Due to the issues mentioned in the other section I'd probably rate this hostel a bit lower if it were meant as a long-term solution, but I think this hostel has one clear purpose and it does a good job at it. Definitely beats walking around with all your luggage in the middle of the night.
