Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

We had the most pleasant hospitable experience during our Iceland trip . Breakfast is amazing . Staff is amazing . We rented 2 bedroom chalet and it was perfect for our family . Our kids enjoyed the hot tub . Location is amazing and mesmerizing . The first night of our stay it was a bit hot ,request the owner to hve a fan . However the weather was perfect the second night so didn’t face the problem again . No midges at all , so we got lucky staying by Mývatn lake . Would come back for sure . Highly recommended for families

TaiwanThe price is a little bit too high.
The cabin is small but enough for a great stay, the public area is better than expected, the kitchen is well equipped for you to cook dinner, since there are barely restaurants open at night around Myvatn. There are two adorable dogs, they're very friendly.

United StatesNeeds linen updates. The pillows were so flat, that they were almost non-existent. You have to be really close to the people you are staying with, because there isn’t room. Our friend decided to get a hotel room down the road.
The location was perfect for groceries and activities. Easy walk to registration/breakfast. I liked that people were required to take off their shoes to go into the main building.

United StatesNothing. Well, the midge, but what can you do.
On of the best breakfasts we had in the ten-day trip on the Ring Road. Nice location. Very clean room. Quiet. They had head netting available to borrow in the office since we were visiting during the midge season. At least they don't bite.

United StatesEverything was outstanding! Loved it all.
The breakfast was excellent - farm fresh products. The cottage was super cute, clean and well appointed. We also rented a room which was equally nicely appointed and the shared kitchen was well equipped. Check in/out was easy, staff was friendly and helpful. We would love to stay here again! The black out blinds were FANTASTIC! We got the best night’s sleep with a comfy bed and full darkness.

United StatesCan't really think of anything...
Living and kitchen area were so spacious- the perfect place to relax. The entire room was walls of huge windows- amazing views from every side! Hot tub on the side porch with a door leading directly into the bathroom was so convenient. Breakfast was the best buffet we've had in Iceland. Loved everything!

United StatesThe property was very outdated. You had to go outside to get to the kitchen type room. Just not up to the standards we had been experiencing in Iceland.

United StatesShortcomings: The living space is crowed for even two people so while it is advertised to sleep more (and it can), keep that it mind. The cabin is all wood with what looks like a fair amount of after-the-fact retrofitting, so...not luxurious but mostly functional. The rooms are not light-tight so you will want a sleep mask if darkness is important to you; the summer Icelandic sun will illuminate your room throughout the night. The kitchen working space is seriously small. The kitchen is poorly equipped for anything other than boiling water. The limited cookware lacked a lid and there is no oven. They should update their cookware and provide a plug-in air fryer as a space-saving alternative. the larger rooms are more comfortable (and more expensive) which I will keep in mind when I return to this part of Iceland.
The Dimmuborgir Guesthouse offers an array of lodging options, all of which look like simple rustic cabins. This was a return visit for us and the first time we (wife, me) stayed in the smallest cabin. The location is right on Lake Myvatn and the grounds offers some great views, especially of sunset over the lake. The nights are quiet. The breakfast is solid and has some interesting features: their home smoked trout and lamb, hard-boiled duck eggs, a push-button coffee-espresso machine and warm bread, along with cereal, yogurt, some fresh fruit. If you enjoy smoked fish, the smoked trout (which they sell) is the best I've had.
