Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Absolutely perfect location right across from Hallgrímskirkja - this is the ideal choice for exploring Reykjavík downtown. The shared kitchen was clean, and parking was very convenient. We'll certainly be returning here on our next visit to Reykjavík!

AustraliaThe pillows were a little flat for my liking, but the staff were very responsive and I ended up sleeping very comfortably.
The room was cute, cozy and nicely furnished. The amenities were good, including hot showers with good water pressure. I didn’t get to meet the staff, however I found they were responsive to email and there was a lot of helpful signage, even recommending places to eat and buy cheap groceries. The location was also fantastic - very central and close to attractions & the tour bus terminal.

BrazilThe pillow actually was a cushion so this is the only point I didn't like and I think is quite easy to solve it so just sharing it as a recommendation.
Everything was absolutely perfect. Better cost-benefit. The instructions you receive before and during the stay just shows how the owners are caring about their guests and the guesthouse itself has lots of ammenities. I stayed in the single room and it was just the perfect size. Location is impecable, really central, in front of the cathedral and bus stop number 8 (perfect for the pick-up/drop-off with FlyBus-Airport). They use the best shampoo/condiotining/soap brand from Iceland (in my opinion) and also offer a small hair dryer. Heater in both room and bathroom. It's way better than in the pictures so it exceed my expectations for real.

SloveniaI loved everything.
I had the garden house, which was lovely. A quiet cozy stay at the back of the house. Everything was clean, the little house was warm. I had to leave in the middle of the night to the airport and I loved that I didn’t bother anyone. The location is amazing, a minute walk from the church!

FinlandThe kitchen felt a bit dirty both times when I was there. Potentially, parking might be an issue during weekdays.
Obviously perfect location, easy check-in, nice and clean rooms, excellent communication (although I haven't had a chance to meet with the patrons).

United KingdomPersonally, I don't like staying in properties that have no-one around to greet you upon arrival. There was only a piece of paper telling me which room to go to. My first day I had to explain this to a group from Asia who were standing in the hallway looking confused. I did try texting our hosts using the phone number, just to check that they didn't lock the door at night. I got no response. Teabags yes, but no instant coffee? Filter coffee, to make in a big pot in the kitchen, is not convenient for solo traveller. Some rooms were ensuite, but not mine, and I had to keep walking down the corridor, often finding the one bathroom occupied, so I'd have to keep coming and going. One time the door was unlocked but there was a man at the lavatory. Charming. The front door seemed to be unlocked basically all day, so that's not ideal when leaving bags unattended. The TV in the room only got six channels, at least two were Austrian, and poor reception anyway. There was some noise from the road. I didn't think Iceland had insects but I found a creepy on the floor, something like an earwig. They didn't empty the bins, clean cups, or make up the bed, on either of the two mornings prior to my departure day.
The location, a stone's throw from Hallgrim's Church, is the main benefit. No danger of getting lost. It was simple enough to drop-off my suitcase prior to check-in. The property has kitchen and dining room facilities, and the rooms have little ketttles and teabags, cups and glasses. It's possible to make a breakfast of cereal for oneself. The single bed - my room had two singles - was quite comfortable. I never felt cold in the room (this was winter) nor too hot. There was a window for ventilation. Shower was spacious, gel and shampoo provided. Bathroom very clean. Relaxed, calm atmosphere.

NetherlandsWe stayed at Eric the Guesthouse the first and the last day of our 5-day trip to Iceland. We were very warmly welcomed. The host family is very lovely and helpful. There is always coffee and tea, very well equipped kitchen and plenty of space for your own groceries. The room had a super comfortable bed and comes with towels, soap and shampoo. The location is convenient and everything in the downtown area is within walking distance. The second night we stayed at the apartment which is close to the main house, brand new and has everything you need. A perfect private spot to spend our last night in the city.

United StatesGreat location! Loved privacy of the cottage. Free parking across the street on weekends. Price was great for a Saturday night. Check in was at 2p which was great since we arrived at 4:50a. We've took a nap in the car in the parking lot across the street for a bit in early AM. Shower very slippery! Just a warning.
