Great room and great location. Staff were friendly and helpful during checkin. The private but separate bathroom was spacious and had a view of the cathedral. I would not hesitate to rebook if I return to Iceland.

The walls are pretty thin so it feels like you're in the room with other people. There only one shower for most of the guests, one room has a private bathroom if I saw that correctly.

The house felt very welcoming and warm, there was a big common space and free food in the kitchen.

The small bathroom was relatively cold (it was -12°C outside), but this was not really a big issue, especially for a short stay.

It was very close to the city center, the beds were comfortable and we had no problems finding free parking near by. We also liked that guests were asked to take off their shoes and use the provided slippers in the house. We had a room with bathroom, the shower (that was within the room) was very nice. There was very cute separate bathroom with toilet and sink within the room.

We did not get to spend the second of the two nights we booked there. We were told that this was due to an issue with their radiators. We were provided with alternative accommodation - free of charge. This was an entire, modern (and spotlessly clean!) apartment only a few minutes away, but it did not have the same charm as the room we originally booked.

It was a charming place with a lovely community feel. Its location was perfect and the decor felt like a cosy folktale scenery. The staff were very friendly and there was a neighbourly but intimate feeling to it all.

Location was excellent for Hallgrimur Church and downtown shopping areas. Easy walk to the harbour area. BSI Bus Terminal 10 minute walk. Cooking facilities in the kitchen with a fridge, toaster and cereals available for breakfast, Tea and coffee available in the rooms and the dining room.

It was in the perfect location, only a short walk from everything we needed/ wanted to see. There was also plenty of space for parking as we rented a car during our stay and the house was very well organised considering the number of rooms/people that it housed. We also were lucky enough to run into the owner who was extremely lovely and welcoming and happy to help if need be. Honestly couldn’t fault a thing!!

It has been my "layover" between two flights. Because domestic airport is located close to center of Reykjavik, I choosed the Red guesthouse which is licated in-between downtown (10 minutes walk) and BSI - cental bus hub (10 minutes walk). Before even booking, I was attracted by friendly description with many small, but quite important details. Reality was above my expectations... Extremely clean and cozy, quite old (I believe) authentic icelandik house which remembers many inhabitants, their happy and sad days, love stories and laugh of kids. There are many pictures on the walls, some of them are real oil on canva pices of art, some are introducing modern (NOT conteporary! :)) art. Every corner, every little shelf is well designed and "on a right place". Kitchen is well equipped - possible to accomplish quite complicated receipts. Eric is a very positive and friendly person, easy available and helpful by phone. A few another customers were smiling and friendly - seems that interior and atmosphere of this house affects people in a good way. My only regret is that I spent only one night there and didn't have enough time to really enjoy this place. I'm already looking forward my next trip to Reykjavik. Thank you very much Eric! Nothing comes to mind, the staff were fantastic, welcomed us and were pleasant.

Location was the key fact which was super, the shower whilst small had plenty of hot water with decent water pressure. The house was nice & warm with kitchen & dining room facilities with free cereals & coffee.
