Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There was nowhere to hung my jacket, but the room was big so I adapted.
I was lucky that I was upgraded from a single to a double room (and I didn't aks! Just by pure kindness :D ). The room was big, cozy, warm and with stunning view of the fjord. They were renovating (looking good!), but there was no noise - it was a quiet stay. Kettle and coffee machine were in the room. The room had a big window looking over the town, the fjord and the sunrise.

Noisy. Steps until 2 o'clock and our room's balcony had a windows.broken and the wind entered the balcony and kept pushing the room's door to the balcony and banging it all night. I'm sure after winter everything Will BE repaired and ok.

All the noise from outside of the room could be heard very well. Not clean enough.

To me the pictures are a little outdated. It is more run down in real life. The room we stayed in was bland

Room quite small, don't bring a big bag for rest it's more the town that does not have to 9ffer much. The witchcraft museum does attract visitors.
A friendly young man assisted when my friend locked himself out of his room, no problem. Within a few minutes access was gained again. Homavik only had 1 option to get vegetarian food as most places were either closed or not operating for winter, even places within an hours drive had none. But the service station had two minute noodle type of options. Finna, has basic accommodation with a small boiling jug to each room and some teas and coffee in the main kitchen. Well presented and the house cat serving some attention

The bathroom stunk and there was only a microwave for cooking. otherwise it was great.

The size of the bathroom is a bit small although it is still functional.

However, the soundproofing left much to be desired. Noise from adjacent rooms and the hallway was easily audible, which disrupted what could have been a more restful stay.
The breakfast was a standout, with a great variety and fresh, tasty options. Most notably, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making my stay truly enjoyable.

The staff is lovely; the breakfast room has a nice terrace overlooking the fjord that is really enjoyable in good weather. The room we got had a nice ocean view, smart TV, very comfortable shower box.

The property is a bit outdated, the bathroom is very tiny, there is no elevator to the upstairs rooms.
The familiar welcome by the staff was the highlight of the stay. Breakfast was freshly prepared and provided plenty of options. The price/quality ratio was just right. The location gives you an opportunity to explore town on foot.

The price is out of space, for that price you will get a 5 star hotel in Switzerland or most places in Europe, and here you have a very very simple room with a bathroom that is so narrow that you cannot even change your mind in there
The persons working there were extremely friendly and helpfull, specialy the lady from Belarusse, she would get 20 points out of 10!!!! Thanks for being so positive!

Hard to fin as hotel name a bit faded.
There was some confusion over the room types as I needed a twin room and the booking showed a double. As all the twin rooms were booked the manage kindly gave us an additional room which solved the problem and was much appreciated.
