Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomResponse time on booking.com could have been better to my question about breakfast options (messaged in the afternoon, got a response before 10pm), which, if we had waited, would not have given us any time to make our own arrangements, given how shops close early and it was Easter weekend with even shorter opening hours everywhere. There was an electric plug-in heater in the bathroom, which didn't really get the space warm, particularly the floor was cold even after having the heater on throughout the night. The shower corner was quite dark, being out of direct light in a corner, and, I think, due to static electricity or whatnot, the shower curtain kept 'attacking' whilst showering. Literally just kept coming close to you making the space about half as big, so having to constantly push it back again. The water also didn't really flow away at a good rate, so had to keep flow quite low, or take frequent breaks to give it time to drain away. The sink was very small for an extremely large bathroom. It made it difficult to keep the area dry, and even fill the kettle up properly.
Free breakfast included! I didn't expect that, and it was a lovely surprise. Continental style buffet breakfast with bread and toppings, cereal, fruit, yoghurts, tea/coffee. Had some vegan options but we did finish the oat milk and seemed they didn't have any more of that. Would have been nice to have like peanut butter or something more plant-based protein-rich, but again, we didn't expect any and got fed well. The rooms were spacious, self-regulated heaters. Very good blackout curtains - absolute darkenss with bathroom door closed and both blinds drawn. Beds were comfortable with nice warm blankets. Kettle in room, some choice of black tea/coffee. Right in the centre of Suðureyri (not that the place is large anyway). Nice wide cupboard to unpack clothes/other stuff into.

LuxembourgNoise from neighbouring rooms and especially from the café/restaurant... we were staying in the room above the café/restaurant and as this is a small village it has to be the place to be. You could hear everything in the room, from the music to the banging of the front door until quite late.
The room is very spacious with blackout curtains. The bathroom has a bath. The breakfast was very complete and the staff were attentive to ensure a wide variety.

AustriaWe booked the room including breakfast but in fact it was not worth the money. They could have been offered it in their restaurant but I guess the employee just didn’t want to, so it was self service from the fridge in a corner with no table and chair. Very comfortable.
It was quiet.

AustriaWe had three single beds in the room. One double bed would've been preferable. Only one of the three windows could be opened.
Breakfast was a bit of a double edged sword. There was a stocked fridge and some cereal. And it was accessible at all times. Restocking could've been better and there was almost exclusively sweet food. Some fish or cold cuts would've been swell. There were three different sauces for fish but no fish. Juice selection was mediocre. Overall alright.

Good location in the middle of town. Comfy beds, great shower, lots of hot water, quiet place. Reception is in the restaurant across the street. Their restaurant is perfect for breakfast, salmon, freshly baked warm bread, local specialty spreads, loads of choice, cheese, cold cuts, granola, yoghurt etc Excellent helpful staff. Trendier than most eateries we’ve been in. Very much enjoyed our experience.

United StatesThe walls were thin and I could easily hear the people next door, but I think they were being quite loud which was not the fault of the property.
The room was in a building across the street from the Fisherman Cafe where a lovely breakfast was served. Probably the best breakfast spreads I had in Iceland!

BelgiumThe only point to recommend could be to increase slightly breakfast variety, even it was not bad. Nothing negative.
Fantastic place, it was brand new freshly constructed or refurbished (still smelling to freshly built/painted). All was great, the kitchen and dinning room is very well equipped and is very convenient.
