Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ColombiaThe room was really barebones. It was enough for what I needed, but could have been better.
It's location. it's very close to anything downtown Reykjavik, so you can just leave your car parked at the front/side and go walking to the church or rainbow street or anything near that area.

AustraliaWhile the bathroom was nice, given it was shared with other guests, I would have liked more surfaces to put my clothes / toiletries / towel, instead of having to use the toilet seat/floor (there was a plastic hook but it wouldn’t fit more than one item)- a shelving unit would be a great addition, I feel. Also while the room was generally clean, my window sill had some mould growing on it.
The bed was very comfortable and room was cozy and spacious. The shared dining/living area was nicely furnished and inviting. Shower was nice and hot with good water pressure. The location was great - walking distance to many shops and restaurants.

United Kingdomthe problem i don't know exactly for where coming I felt an unpleasant smell in the shower, or it was from the drain only when you were taking a shower,🙃 # a suggestion for the future, put coffee, tea and some biscuits in the kettle in each room, I personally did not manage to find the kitchen where there was tea, coffee, etc# .
Hello i been there first time for # London location great, close to city centre and ocean hi was ok the room was warm, the bed was very comfortable, clean in the room, I liked it, but as an idea, you could put extra towels for one person in the set Thank you 🙂

United KingdomKitchen tap didn't produce cold water when I stayed. Luckily I found the jug of water in the fridge to quench my hangover! Road noise was audible from the room, but being from London it was nothing that I wasn't used to. Host should probably note that the sulphuric smell from the taps is totally normal in Reykjavik (seen a few reviewers caught out by the stench). Front door to the property wasn't always fully closed - need to pull it closed.
Good location easily walkable from city centre. Room was cozy and warm. Two bathrooms to choose from plus a handy sink inn the bedroom. Easy access to the property on arrival. Overall good value for money for a short solo stay.

Czech RepublicThe access codes can be buggy, but the staff is available and solved the issue on the spot. All good, will be happy to return next time while in Reykjavik.
Great location, lovely rooms. There are several rooms to share two or three wc and bathrooms, all very clean. Behind the main building, a lovely covered terrace /lounge with a shared kitchen and a seating area, perfect to eat a light dinner or breakfast. The codes to get in are iffy, but the staff is a short phone call away and sorted the issue promptly. Walking distance to a thermal pool and downtown. Ample street parking in front or on the side.

LuxembourgThe room I stayed in was fairly cold (around 15-18C), which I did not mind as the weather was fairly warm but in colder winter months it would be too cold.
The room was cozy and bed excellent! The house was very fresh, clean and felt comfortable.

NetherlandsThe room specs said 9m2, but it was more like 6m2. So it was a bit small. Usually when you hardly spent time in your room, that would be no problem. But if you spent a bit more time there jt could be a bit claustrofobic. And the matress had an indentation so it was a bit less comfortable
I liked the location, it was near a lot of things, but in a quiet area. Also having a kitchen to cook your own food was lovely. Clean bathrooms, communal fridge, hardly saw any of the other renters

The room was warm and comfortable, the location is good being a 15 minute walk or so from the centre and only 5 minute walk from a tour/transfer pickup bus stop. The bathrooms were clean. A well equipped kitchen is available for use, there is also a place for luggage storage which is helpful

CanadaIf there were some facilities in the room for hanging jackets and clothes, it'd be more convenient.
Great location, a short walk to city centre and the harbour, and a public pool nearby to relax after a long day. It is in a quite neighborhood. Kitchen is huge and not crowded at all during my stay. Bathrooms are clean and there was usually no need to wait.

SlovakiaWe appreciated this big room with a balcony, we had a lot of space. We had a sink in the room also. A black cat came by and invited itself into the room through thw window so we let it happen and then we cuddled with it for a while and this made the stay perfect for us since we are catlovers 😃
