Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsShowers are public, like in many locations in Iceland. There is a curtain for some privacy though. Corners in our pod were not the cleanest, but nothing too bad.
Very nice location, managed by a passionate owner. I like the backstory about trolls. The pods are small, but to be expected for the price. We had a comfortable stay here for an affordable price. Also very good base location for many sightseeing locations nearby, like the þingvellir/golden circle and the snæfellsnes peninsula. Friendly and helpful staff.

SpainThe cabins look so cosy and the hot tubs were fantastic. There are 2 kitchens to cook you own meals that we didn’t use because we wanted to taste the local food. The dinner at the restaurant was awesome, the soups were really great and the meat sooo tender. If you add as well perfect music and atmosphere you have an amazing experience!! Breakfast had everything and they even waited for us because our alarm didn’t go off and we were a bit late. Thank you guys!

United Kingdomno real issues - rooms were a bit dusty could’ve done with a hoover under the beds and our door didn’t latch when closed so anytime we walked out even for one second we had to lock the other one in or out , only one of the 3 hot tubs was hot, one was lukewarm and the other was empty so everyone was all getting into the hot one so we just left them but wanted to stay.
exactly as described very cosy very warm and dark so good place to see northern lights, staff very friendly and dinner was tasty, communal kitchen was good and liked that you could leave food or use others that had been left as I hate food waste, and liked that each pod had a parking space next to it.

AustraliaEverything!! The staff were amazing and went out of their way to assist us (including rescuing us from deep snow), they were friendly and approachable. The cabins were quaint, very warm and well appointed. We loved finishing our day with a soak in the thermal hot tubs each night and were lucky enough to see the northern lights while soaking one evening! It was magical. The troll garden was fun and my kids loved visiting it and reading about the troll folklore. Fossatun was the perfect location to see the northern lights without being too far from large coties and tourist spots. We will definitely be visiting Fossatun camping pods again!

Gorgeous mountain views, restaurant with delicious and fresh food overlooking the river, clean and cute camping pods with GREAT insulation, three hot tubs, dark enough at night to see the Northern Lights (even when it's cloudy!), friendly staff (family business), cozy lounge area with vinyl records and couches, troll garden, clean and easily accessible bathrooms, showers, and kitchen!

South AfricaNothing!
The staff were so friendly and kind. Gave plenty of tips on things to do and see around the area, and ended up seeing the aurora nearby.. Thank you! Super warm people. The breakfast buffet was also good - the pod is so cozy and cute out in nature, and the bed and room were really cosy and comfortable. The hot tubs were amazing! The walks on the property are also amazing, and so are the nearby hot springs. In such a beautiful property away from the city but not too far. A very good base to see the south and the western part of iceland. The price of the accommodation was also affordable for solo traveller, and made the travel possible. I highly recommend the place!
