Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustriaAll three hot tubs were extremely dirty and the sanitarys were disgusting. We have been every day at a campsite around Iceland and this was by far our worst experience. Very old, dirty, bad smell .. We slept in the camp pods which were nice but also not clean. The floor, mirror and outdoor area especially the chairs needs to get cleaned.
Cozy, warm, two open kitchens to use

IsraelThere is no wifi at all, not in any way , not even weak or something, just non existent, even that its said there is. Even in the shared areas like kitchen the wifi is even if showing the name - could not connect to it since it so super weak. Theres only 2 stalls per gender for at least 50 people.( 1 in the showers and 1 in bathroom). And its quite a walk to the bathroom, at rain not something you can do, especially midsleep, we took car half the times. Theres something like 5 rows of pods would be nice to have 1 bathroom on each row at least.
The pod is super cozy and comfortable, the heating is very good and heat up fast. Theres a deck outside to relax. Theres incredibly beautiful waterfalls literally on the restaurant deck! One of best coffes I had, to drink it in front of it like that. Theres very nice travel path they made with little explanations on Icelandic folklore and culture along the stream. Theres a miniature fridge inside the pod, which was great for beer or sandwich or something small youll want in your room. The mattress is very comfortable. Overall worth the money and if in area in future, will stay again(closer to the bath).

United StatesIt wasn’t as comfortable as we were hoping. You could feel the springs under the mattress. The heating unit was difficult to adjust. No ventilation unless you keep the window door open which lets in a lot of cold air. Mini fridge can really only hold two soda cans. Good for those with camping gear and extra costs for those without.
Very cute.

GermanyThere are only 2 shared kitchens available. Both kitchens and the provided equipment are old and dirty. It seems kitchens aren't getting cleaned as needed - maybe in summer things are better? The playground and shared bathrooms need to be updated.
We stayed there 1 night in March in a camping pod. The camping pods are clean and cozy. Free Private Parking is directly in front of your camping pod. Heating worked very well in all places (shared and private). For a remote place like this, Fossatun offers a lot of things to do and see. It includes a very nice located restaurant with nice views over the river. You can perfectly do some small and interesting hikes directly starting from here. If you are lucky you can enjoy a concert of the owner's band or discover Icelandic culture by buying his book on troll sagas or visit the troll theme park (officially closed at the time of our visit). The 2 kitchens are ok in size, but not enough for the number of camping pods/guests. Despite that, there are enough shared fridges and a private mini fridge is additionally located inside you camping pod. Good home base for the silver circle.

AustraliaThere was no signs or communications that indicated that there was a fee to use the laundry. I walked into the unlocked loundry room to start my washing only to come back in an hour to see the room locked. Staff then notified me that there is a 1000ISK fee which I paid to get my clothes back. Not fussed about the money, just would've appreciated better communication. Kitchen was also a bit dirty, messy, and not well equiped (all I wanted was knife and forks). This is probably more of a reflection of the people that stay here. Showers also didn't drain quickly enough when I used it and flooded.
Quirky and unique accommodation in a good location. Everything inside the camping pod was clean and comfortable. Proper double beds were great (instead of the usual two singles pushed together.) The surrounds are quite nice too. Troll themes are interesting if you are into that.

SpainThat the linens had to be rented. The kitchens were too small for all the people that stayed there. The bathroom was not really nice nor clean. Not enough appliances in the kitchen for everyone to cook. The walk between the kitchen and the pods is quite dark. The wifi didn't work in our pod!!! We had to go out and get closer to the reception.... It was quite annoying in the middle of the night not even having it on all the area.
The pod was warm, cute and nice. It has hot tubs.

Canada- the troll garden was run down and an upsell for the owner’s books but it was a nice idea for an add-on. If I had to pay to enter it, I would have been very disappointed - the beds were not comfortable although adequate for a night
- they rented bedding which is good for travelers; make sure you rent in advance as it’s cheaper - the property is on a beautiful river with little mini falls - the location is pretty good for going to Snaefellsnes or to Thingvellir. There is also a crater and nice waterfalls about a half hour away - the owner is an author or children’s books which could be cool for families
