Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe bathroom needs a serious face lift. I didn't feel comfortable using the shower. It just didn't feel clean. Also, note that the hotel is in a very remote area so the only food options are 30 minutes either way or the hotel restaurant.

United StatesThis hotel saved us! We were stranded due to road closures, and my husband was having a diverticulitis attack. We didn't know what to do, as we could not make it to our reserved hotel. Fosshotel took our reservation through booking.com last minute. Yes, it was way out of our budget, but we didn't care, they saved us! Thank you so much for having room for us in your very comfortable and clean hotel!

United StatesShower enclosure was very small. A large water bottle may not fit under the bathroom sink to refill.
Surprisingly nice place, truly in the middle of nowhere. Breakfast is really good and worth paying for, especially since there is nothing within 30-40 minutes’ drive. Beds were comfortable, and the whole space was very clean. Lots of common space in the restaurant and lounge for guests to relax. Staff at front desk was kind

United StatesWhen we arrived, our room was disgusting. There was visible black dirt/mold on the blinds and under the windowsill. The bathroom shower and walls were also covered in disgusting black and rusty dirt. The lamp even had smoke/mold damage. We asked to have it cleaned and the team arrived the next day for a thorough bathroom clean, but nothing was done about the blinds/windowsill. They did give us a free dinner to make up for the mess, but honestly, unless you have to stay here, I'd suggest an AirBnB.
The beds were relatively comfortable and it was nice to have 3 twin beds. The restaurant was also nice.

United KingdomThere seems to be a housekeeping problem: the toilet hadn't been cleaned properly. The nice guy on reception had to come in to clean it which I felt bad about as it wasn't his job. We'd come in from the freezing cold but were greeted with a freezing cold room. The heater was off and the window had been left open. The room didn't heat up all evening and i had to go to bed with socks on. The breakfast was pretty chaotic, very crowded with lots of things running out and the coffee machine not working. A lot of people were unhappy. I did mention this at checkout and the receptionists were very nice about it and gave us a voucher for our next stay in the next Foss hotel. However, I'm not sure I'd visit again.
Nice restaurant with good food. Staff were lovely. The location is great looking out on a lava field. Large room.

United StatesRemote location, but excellent for northern lights! Great base in between Vik and glaciers. Restaurant was good and staff is friendly. No northern lights wake-up, but they were out at 9:00 for us and gorgeous with the pitch black the location offers!

United StatesI wish they had a larger selection of takeaway food.
Great Hotel. Very comfortable. Staff was great. There is really no other food options close by, so be sure to eat at the hotel. We were jet lagged so missed breakfast. Beautiful countryside.

United KingdomRoom was dirty, bathroom not clean, the blinds over the windows were cheap and broken and they didn't cover the whole window. Even the tea mug was broken! A really disappointing hotel for any cost let alone the enormous fee they demand
Not much to like for amount you pay.

FranceRoom literally looks like a hospital room. And we paid a fortune — 300 euros for one night, which would get you a VERY nice stay anywhere in Europe. They don’t show the whole bathroom of standard rooms on their ads for a reason: it looks like a temporary bathroom. There was mold on the ceiling and corners, There’s no separation between shower area and floor, so water goes all over the place. Amenities were awful. Room-wise: bed sheets were gritty and old, you could feel the small lumps when you lie down. The curtains were dirty and there are no power outlets next to bed. Restaurant is extremely expensive and food bad quality, as we heard other guests complaining. When we went for drinks, we got table service and when we ordered another round, we were denied service and told we needed to go to bar for drinks. When we questioned why, waiter was dismissive and rude, saying “Whatever”.
it was a terrible experience.

SingaporeYou'd expect more from one of the most expensive Icelandic hotels. There was a terrible stench (think urine) coming from the bathroom, which we couldn't get rid of even with room spray. In contrast to the rest of the room and hotel facade, the bathroom looked old and poorly-maintained. Shower curtain covered only a tiny area and didn't make for a good experience.
Great location if you're on a road trip and need a place to stay. Room was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the car park. Breakfast buffet was fantastic and staff were friendly.

GermanyBathrooms are just terrible: linoleum on the floor and a shower without platform, just a too-short curtain to shield. After a shower the plastic bathroom was flooded with water. Felt like a hospital nightmare. Also, most of the furniture in the room is super old and chipped

ItalySeverely overpriced. The room was poorly equipped. Our sheets were dirty, bathroom smelled like urine and looked like a hospital bathroom. Hair dryer seemed like it’s going to set itself and me on fire at any moment. Definitely doesn’t match 300 euros we paid for one night of stay. Luckily it was for one night only.
Staff was polite and it had a nice view.

NetherlandsThe room itself was okay, decent view as well. However the bathroom was a real disappointment, they don't show it in any of their pictures, so it is incredibly misleading. It seems like it was built after the fact and it was quite dirty (which may be because of their "eco-friendly" policy of not cleaning rooms every day). I believe that bathroom really brought the whole experience down.
Great breakfast. Staff was friendly and the a la carte restaurant was quite tasty (though a bit pricey for what we got).

United StatesThe room was very bad quality. Bathroom was pretty nasty, very old and just janky. The walls are very thin so you can hear other guests very easily. Breakfast is not included and very, something like $15/person/day

Germanythe rooms are old and dirty (I had to scratch of dirt from my night table with one of the available spoons in the room). They have not been renovated in ages and it is visible making me feel very uncomfortable as a guest - the bathroom is an imposition, no proper shower, no toilet brush, mold in the corner of the shower - I am asthmatic so this is actually dangerous for me!! Also the bathroom smells disgusting as the shower curtain has not been washed in ages - also visible by the stains on it - We requested that the bathroom is cleaned, front desk confirms this, as we get back in the evening the floor is still dirty, just the towels were changed - hostile staff, telling us to leave the restaurant 10 minutes after breakfast closes and taking away the buffet before the end of breakfast! I have never experienced this in any other hotel.
