Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandOne of mattresses was very used, it was impossible to sleep on it. The second one was better but still not great. Where was a gap between after closing the door so it was impossible to have a dark room for the night. Also you could here even whispering from the room next door and corridor. Bathrooms and toilets were old and used, also a bit untidy. And there were only a few for so many rooms. Breakfast was also a disappointment because they promise freshly baked bread and a great breakfast but it was just OK and I didn't manage to get any of that fresh bread, I haven't smelled or seen any. Taking all things into consideration, I really don't know why this place have such a good opinions. It was my worse stay in Iceland.
Localisation was OK, can be hard to get in winter with worse conditions though.

CanadaBoring location. No sink in the room. Distance to anything.
No sink in the room, toilet down the hall. At the bottom end of guesthouses over my 12 of staying in them. The location is on a flat plain with the nearest restaurant 15-20 minutes away. Breakfast room was nice and breakfast was the usual guesthouse fare. Everything was clean, and it was the first place that was nicely decorated with lovely large photos.

United StatesThe staff toldbus eggs had run out early. Either only allow one egg per person or have enough for all guests. Told they ran out of eggs seemed like a cheap excuse for not providing all guests basic breakfast. Also fruit was very little. Chopped up tiny apples and pairs.
It was on our way around the Ring Road. Room was 4 beds so it worked for our family and had a nice view of mountains.

IcelandThe bathroom in the big room for 8 people had no ventilation at all! Think about the smell of sulphuric water mixed with the regular bathroom smells... The big room was actually in the basement, with a very narrow spiral stairs leading to it - almost impossible to get through with bigger suitcases. None of this was indicated in the description.
The common spaces were nice, with a panoramic view of the Icelandic countryside. Convenient location for visiting the mid-west of the island.

United KingdomThere seems to be 3 rooms with one shared bathroom. An adjacent room with 3 people also seemed to use this bathroom. The WC is located in this bathroom too. The room itself is narrow, to the point of having to walk sideways to get to the other side of the bed. My duvet covers had stains on them.
A nice dining room with a view. A comfortable extra sitting room next to the rooms with the shared bathroom on the ground (raised) floor. Good breakfast.

ItalyWe didn’t like the fact that on a site it’s written that there is a restaurant but in reality it is closed during January and re-opens March and there is no information about it. There is also no possibility to cook. Therefore, the water in all the taps makes very bad smell which is unpleasant and doesn’t seem its a right water to drink. Also, the rooms are a bit small which doesn’t give you a space to pass by from one side to the other. The contact over message was good but once needed help and tried to contact the owner by phone serval times, unfortunately no one has replied to our calls.
The house it’s very cozy inside, you feel like you are at home especially that you can walk without shoes and it’s warm. It’s also nice you can do self check-in.

United StatesThis Guesthouse (which is like an equivalent of a B&B in America) had rules regarding the use of common space that made it feel uncomfortable. We would have preferred having a location to sit and read/visit/etc. There was a cramped space upstairs, but the larger common area had minimal hours and you were not allowed to bring food down there - even snacks/coffee. It is “expected” of you to have breakfast and dinner there, which are both additional charges and not included in your stay. As well, the water situation there is difficult. All water sources smell like sulphur to the point you HAVE to bring bottled water. Showering, brushing your teeth, drinking water - all have an overwhelming smell of sulphur. This was the only place in Iceland, outside geothermal pools, that we had this experience. Most of our group chose not to shower because it was so pungent. This is a more remote country setting and you DEFINITELY need your own vehicle at this location.
It was clean and well kept. The 2 girls that were working were very friendly and helpful.

Canada1. The girl at reception told I can use the lobby area, and when I sat there to eat a small sandwich and tea, she rushed to me and very rudely said "you cannot eat here, my boss saw you, and he said you cannot eat and seat here, here is only for whoever purchases from the resturant". She emrassed me in front of other guests. She could have tell me that initially when I specifically asked her if I can sit there when she said YES. 2. Very unfriendly staffs 3. They are making money of everything here. Nothing is included in the high price you pay for except your bed and shared bathroom. There is no kitchen, there is no soap or shampoo in the bathrooms. Even if you want a cup of tea you have to pay for it. This is not definition of guest house. I have been to many and this was terrible, very unfair host lives here. 4. This place and limited facilities did not worth the money I paid I could have gone to better places. 5.so unfortunate that there are these people who just want to take away the money from tourists..
Nothing about this place was likable. They did not deserve the money I spent here.
