Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainWonderful and cozy place, lovely owners! The apartment has everything you need, very confortable! Just be aware that the town right now is almost empty, we've stayed in this guesthouse because of the stunning volcanic landscapes around, but if you want to go out for dinner or have some drinks, maybe this place is not for you! I hope next time I come to Iceland I can stay here again and see a town full of life!! Good luck guys! Thanks for everything!

NetherlandsThe property is great, but pls bear in mind that Grindavik is a desert town with barely any services open which can be a down side
Very clean and spacious rooms. The location is great, but due to the current situation in the island and the imminent risks of the area, it is not an option for everyone. The owners are super sweet and always available to help. It is also super close to the Blue Lagoon

NetherlandsCan’t think of anything really! The room itself was a bit small but it had everything in it you need, and the house itself also has a kitchen and living room with games and tv so it is nice to sit there and relax!
Lovely guesthouse, the best breakfast and superfriendly hosts who gave us good advice on nice places to go in the area and kept us updated if we had any questions. The house was superclean and the room was neat and cozy!

NetherlandsHello! We absolutely loved your guesthouse - it felt like home. Completing the entire Ring Road and staying in 9 other hotels, yours stands out as the best by far! The owners were delightful, and the fresh, delicious food made our time here truly enjoyable. We had a wonderful stay and much-needed rest. We'd love to return and, next time, take advantage of the spa offered by the owners' friends. Looking forward to another visit! 🇮🇸❤️❄️

Germanycan't think of anything...
The guesthouse is warm, comfortable and perfectly located for the blue lagoon, volcano hikes and as a getaway into southern iceland. It's only 25 min drive from the aiport. We stayed for 2 nights in room N1 on the ground floor, with two twin beds and one bunk bed. Everything is spotlessly clean, quiet and good. I was a bit worried about sharing situation, but with 2 showers and 3 toilets for 7 bedrooms, we had no problems. Kitchen has everything you can possibly want for breakfast and more: eggs to cook your own style, cheese sreads, cold cuts, cereal, jams and peanut butter, tea, coffee, fruit, soda, juices... We had a volcano hike in the morning and the blue lagoon in the evening. It was a perfect combo! Grindavik has Netto supermarket and a couple of nice eateries - we had very nice fish&chips and burgers at Papa's. Hopsnes is only 10 min drive from the guesthouse and is an amazing volcanic peninsula with an orange lighthouse and rusty ship wrecks - totally out of this world and highly recommended.

IrelandThe step inside the door caught me off guard when I arrived and I nearly fell into the room so maybe a warning on the door beside the handle would be good.
The property was very spacious, warm, spotlessly clean and quiet. The hosts went above and beyond to facilitate my early arrival and were so friendly.

United KingdomThat I had to leave after 2 nights.
Everything - this was the most perfect layover. Usually I book hotels but the reviews on this place was exceptional so we bookedhere - and was not disappointed. The husband/wife duo that runs it - were there when needed to support, answer questions and provide helpful tips. The house was spacious, super clean and guests staying there were super respectful of others and kept it clean and tidy. This was a perfect place to stay if you are going to the Blue Lagoon or to check out the volcanoes. Would stay here again and highly recommend.

SwitzerlandWe had the basement room and were nervous about the door lock only being a small thin key. It was only steps away from the entrance. We arrived late to the property after having dinner at the Blue Lagoon, so there was no more parking available on the property for us. Luckily, we easily found street parking out front.
Check-in was easy and uncomplicated. Comfortable room with everything you need. The little kitchenette in the corner was unexpected but we took the opportunity to make a nice coffee and small breakfast in the morning. The bathroom was clean and spacious. We had a short but lovely stay. Great location, easy to find, and only a short drive away from the Blue Lagoon. It is an exceptional value and I would recommend staying here!

United KingdomAs with all guesthouses I’ve stayed in Iceland, Boise is a big problem. Was woken in the middle of the night by people coming back. A bedside light would be great to be able to read. Somehow the sheets were very scratchy.
Amazing hosts - freshly baked goodies in the kitchen, very welcoming, attentive and informative. Great location in Grindavik.
