Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesI had a 22 hr layover so I booked last minute at 9pm. I then went on a northern lights tour got back to bus terminal at 1am. Called the admin office and the admin stayed on the phone until I reached the guesthouse and advised me how to get inside and made sure I was inside the guesthouse before hanging up. Only a short walk from the bus terminal and I felt very safe during my stay. The bathroom was clean water was hot and breakfast was traditional and had many options. I will definitely use Guesthouse for future travels.

United KingdomA main door that slammed not matter how you closed it. Bathroom had toilet door like at a swimming baths, always slamming. Do NOT rely on the body/ hair wash in showers, does not clean the body properly and will leave your hair in terrible condition. The washing up liquid in the rooms would probably do a better job. Asked for a room on upper floor, put on ground next to the door, always getting disturbed/woken up. Sound proofing an issue? Hear people talking quite clearly.
Breakfast plain but lots of it, bread out of the oven, fab. Location excellent, right in town.

CroatiaThe problem with the basement apartment oriented to the busy street - quite noicey. The biggest minus was the bathroom and the smelly water, don't know for sure was that the sewerage or water system, but the water smelled like sulfur and geyers 🫠 nowhere in Reykjavik or other parts of Iceland have I experienced the same smell in the pipes.
Our room was located in the basement part of the apartment Andrea. It was a nice and spacious bedroom. The kitchen and bathroom were shared with another room. The kitchen was good equipped for making your own meals. There is included breakfest, but it's a not something to be superexcited about.

United StatesIt was a bit difficult to find a a new driver, but maybe some extra research on our part might have helped that problem.
Location was fabulous. The apartment was so incredibly big for the three of us that it made for an incredibly nice introduction to our 2mo trip

SingaporeFacilities were bare and not well maintained. They don’t provide towels in the room and check in was more complicated than expected when we came past 6pm. The instructions provided were inaccurate and did not help. Toilet was smelly, and there was no microwave and fridge in our room as advertised.
Location was very good. Walking distance from the city center with lots of food options.

AustriaThe room we had booked was very small and had a small matrimonial bed, plus a shared bathroom (the latter being no big deal). Eventually we had to split up and book yet another place to both have a good night‘s rest.
Ok for one or two nights - if you are travelling alone and just looking for a place to sleep and shower, or if you are two people in an intimate relationship.

HungaryMy room was extremely small, less than 4 square meters. If I opened my bag on the floor, the door could not be opened. The bed was an old piece, very uncomfortable. The window is dirty and cannot be fully closed, which is a big disadvantage in case of a storm, which I had the first night. The curtains are not long enough, so you might need to sleep in bright lights during the summer. The bathroom is dirty. The breakfast quality is good, but the room for eating it is tiny and so the breakfast was very uncomfortable in general. The Wi-Fi is extremely poor and slow, and reconnects all the time.
The location and the relatively low price (compared to real hotels in Reykjavík) is good. The check-in and check-out is simple.

CanadaThe shared bathroom is fine, however, the shower curtain doesn't cover all the way to the bottom so some water will spill out. The restaurant has an awkward layout, some spots don't get any sunlight and it's quite dark and feels tight in space.
Very convenient location, just a minute away from the church and the sculpture museum. The double room came with its own wash faucet so there's no need to go out for washing your face. Breakfast is great, comes with ham and egg which is a plus.
