Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyI don't usually leave bad reviews but this one is necessary. - Kitchen was out of order without prior information - The state of the bathroom... Shower was dirty, toilet was clogged... - we were given a different room and not the one initially booked - Breakfast is served in another building, a 2min walk which would have been ok if one was informed about it beforehand - Towels not in the room but also to be picked up from the kitchen of the other building.
Location is great, breakfast is included.

United StatesThe lack of elevator. Our room was on the top floor and we had 3 luggage. It was pretty challenging carrying them all the way to the top. Also, the bathroom, although private, was outside the room itself.
The room was spacious and the hotel is centrally located.

United KingdomPlace is undergoing a refurbishment by the looks and it definately needs it. The entrance is difficult to access with luggage and very grubby. I stayed at the sister guesthouse a few times during my stay that was a lot nicer and so when I booked the Andrea at the last minute when I had to change my flight due to bad weather had assumed it would be of the same standard. However it was not in my opinion but I was only there the 1 night so it was okay.
Breakfast room at the sister guesthouse is clean and staff are friendly.

United Kingdomdidn’t like having to go outside and to a different building for breakfast and to collect towels - especially during severe weather. lots of steps too which were hazardous. our room was right by a busy main road and the windows were at street level and the windows didn’t fully work either and it was very noisy and drafty.
the location was great to get into the town centre and bus station. Having access to a kitchen/fridge was helpful. breakfast was a good selection.

SwitzerlandFalse advertising with the room pics and mention of a sofa in the room. Tiny room (43-1), hardly place for our suitcases, should not be sold as a double room! Also, room much too hot in winter, one valve on one of the heaters not working so couldn't regulate the heat, bed right up against radiator so son burned his leg, bed very narrow for two people. Mentioned the heat to the staff and they promised to look into the issue but never did. Only way to make it bearable was to open the window but then it was very loud when cars passed on the road outside, so sleep was very difficult to come by. Staff all made a miserable impression like they were sick of dealing with tourists. Breakfast room very crowded and it was low season (beginning Feb)! Hands down the worst place I've stayed at out of 50 nights away from home over the past 12 months in Europe.
Decent choice at breakfast. Also I liked that we only booked two nights at this place, not a night more.

Lithuaniaalmost everything, it’s not about the property but about the room more, because I stayed there after couple of days as well (all was prebooked and paid) so just comparing. If you are staying on the second floor, I feel sorry) will start from the beginning, first thing is you need to find the building and go to another building to get your keys(self check in) and get back to another one once again (imagine after a long flight, cold weather - you have these tasks). second of all the room number seven - has a big hole on the wall above the window, A HOLE, it was sooo cold in there! And finally, the bathroom, literally impossible to close the window. no idea why they opened it (it’s even screwed not to be able to close). people it is minus 25C, are you kidding me? WORST PLACE EVER STAYED
noting, room 7, second floor - DO NOT STAY

NetherlandsTowels have to be requested and not left in the room, which is quite annoying if you come in late and only realise it when reception is closed. Not even a hand towel is provided.
The location is fantastic and late check-in is easy - keys were left with instructions. Very basic but dry, warm and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast is included, albeit quite basic. Coffee was good.

LatviaThe place doesn’t feel very secure, nor is it very clean (cleanliness depends on who is cleaning that day). My neighbours asked to change their room when they saw how small it is for two persons (one chair, small bed, no racks, no closet - but not all rooms are so underequipped, so that’s good, I suppose!). Don’t be tempted by breakfast and coffee they are offering. First, since the guesthouse is located (scattered) across at least 4 buildings, you’ll most likely have to go outside to get to the building where breakfast is served. Then, you should check the expiration date where possible, as the staff apparently does not care about serving fresh food and drinks as long as the old products have not been eaten (we saw cultured milk that was 10 and 14 days old). Their menu is simple, but quite okay - unless they are serving expired products, overcooked cold eggs, vegetables that probably have been sliced the day before, super cheap jams with no distinctive taste, warm coffee… But then again - you have to take into account that this is NOT among the more expensive places!
The location is nice, it’s close to the main streets and only 10-15 min walk from the bus station. It’s not the most expensive place to stay, so that’s also good.

Icelandmoisture in the bathroom and broken shelves in the fridge (we played puzzles because all the parts were in the fridge and after folding we could use the shelves). I didn't expect to get towels when booking in one building and have to go with them to another building (with luggage). There are no parking spaces, they could not write anything about the fact that you can park in the area because you couldn't.
breakfast and staff were very good. quiet room and location just in time to rest.

LithuaniaThis is a hostel, not a hotel. With paper walls. Be prepared to hear everything: neighbors slamming doors, shouting in the middle of the night, flushing toilet, neighbors taking a shower, the kitchen does not have doors, etc. So, you hear everything. I mean everything - as if all the action would be in your own room. If you are looking just for a bed, warm room with ceiling over your head and in an OK location to spend a night between your tours, I would still recommend booking another place. Also, you need to ask for towels at the reception, so, if you arrive late, you cannot take a shower properly as you simply do not have towels as the reception does not work late. And breakfast was VERY basic and cold...
Having in mind the price, the location is good. It takes around 15 min on foot to the main attractions of the city center.

Staff not friendly at all.. berely notice you around.
