Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

HungaryThe soundproofing was not the best, you could hear everything from the corridor and from the upper floors. We couldn't sleep much in the morning because of this. In the bathroom the water pressure was sometimes not the best, so we had to wait a while because the water didn't come properly.
Simple but practical accommodation in the city centre. Breakfast was delicious. The communal kitchen was well equipped and guests could cook their own meals after breakfast. The room was comfortable and spacious. The shared bathroom was very close to the rooms, luckily there were not too many rooms per bathroom so we never had to wait long. The whole accommodation was very clean, we would love to return in the future.

United KingdomIt would have been nice if there was a comforatble communal space - the combined reception/kitchen/breakfast room/communal space was a kind of basement conservatory, and it was functional, but not particularly comforatable.
This was the 2nd time we stayed here, and last time we were in a separate building to our friends. This time I requested being in the same building, prefereably the main building, and we got neighbouring rooms in the main building. So big thumbs up for that. We were given 2 family rooms (2 singles and 2 bunks), rather than the double and twin that I'd booked, but that wasn't really a problem, the beds were comfy, the rooms were clean, and there was a wash basin in the room. The location is really conveniant for the centre of Reykjavik, and only a couple of minutes walk from Hallsgrimkirche

SingaporeThe kitchen was under renovation and the toilet was not very well lit, with the shower flooding during every use.
Love the homey breakfast and warm host who helped show us the rooms. The location is fantastic only a 2 min walk from the main street. Room was very spacious!

IcelandWe had a room that is accessed by stairs, it is always worth clarifying this at the time of booking. The building was undergoing some renovation work, but anyway, they kept the place in good, clean condition. Breakfast can get crowded at certain times.
A very friendly staff, located in the heart of Reykjavik, makes the place a very good option to stay. It has a shared kitchen and offers a good breakfast. We took the option of a double room with a shared bathroom; everything was in very good condition and clean. There was no noise during the night, something to keep in mind for families and people looking for a good rest after a long day. Bars, restaurants, supermarkets, and all kinds of shops are within walking distance.

The location is great -- easy walking to all the sights and to an excellent bakery and coffee shop. The room was clean and comfortable and tea making facilities were available all day.

United StatesOf course we were aware that we would be sharing a bathroom which was fine, but the bathroom was one stall, with two shower stalls for the whole floor.
Nice breakfast, especially considering this guesthouse was like a very nice hostel--

SpainThere isn’t staff available, the reception is non existent (it’s more like self service). The bathrooms are a little bit small but for the rest is pretty nice place.
The property is nice located, the design of the room look pretty well preserved and “modern”. It’s right next to the church so you can hear the bells but not in the main road with the noise and bars…

BrazilThe breakfast room is super tight, it was a bit hard to sit together with the group and bags (because after that we had to catch the transfer for bus tour). They didn't serve any fruit, just tomato and cucumber (I guess because they are expensive there). I don't mind myself, I enjoyed bread, milk and butter, but my friends who are vegan/alergic/lactose intolerant didn't have many options there. It was a bit late, started 7:30, which is unsuitable to get bus rides with pick up at 8am. Also at some point the power was suddenly off and we had to call for help. The first person was a bit rude like "what do you want me to do?". Being without power in a place where weather is -20C and you don't speak the language or have anyone to help can be super frightening, but a second staff person then assumed and was kind and solved the issue by pointing us to the switch panel to reset it.
The room was with good space to share in four people (two beds and one bunk bed), also we had access to a kitchen with couch shared with another room, so plenty of space for someone to use it to make a call etc. The shower was good, but sharing a single toilet of 4 people with other 4 more probably might be challenging, specially not having a separated toilet without shower. But we could use the one at the breakfast area too, which looked reserved to other room. They offered us to store the luggage there at the breakfast area which helped a lot, also assisted with different guests arriving at different times to get the keys. They had towels, dryer, cabinets, the basics.
