Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandOn booking.com they said breakfast was served from 7:00, but it was served from 7:30 from October till April, which was a problem as I had to be at the meeting point for my trips early enough. Those 30 minutes made a difference i.e. I didn't have time to eat breakfast.

NetherlandsFine accommodation all in all, but it was not super clean, the room was very small and even though it was cleansed the small was a bit off, it was quite noisy when other guests came in (good thing that there is a silent policy from 22-7am), and there was some confusion about breakfast time (later than I uderstood when I booked, so I had to change a bus trip that I wanted to join). The staff was not always present but easy to reach by phone and very helpful with these minor issues.
I would say it's an okay place to stay a few nights, on the budget side in Iceland, but do only expect basic comfort. The location is perfect though and it's an advantage that breakfast is served here, as well as availability of a kitchen to cook your own meals.

CanadaThere was some confusion with our reservation. Had booked 2 rooms for a 2 night stay. When we got our Check-In e:mail they had has booked for only 1 night so we had to find another guesthouse for our 2nd night. Hopefully Guesthouse Aurora will reach out and consider refunding our charge for the unused rooms.
This is the third time we have stayed at Guesthouse Aurora. The location is great with free parking nearby. It is clean and meets all our needs. The breakfast was wonderful. Warm bread, meat, cheese, eggs, yogurt, cereal, veggies, coffee, tea, milk, juice. Everything to give you a good start to the day. The common eating area has always been entertaining and a great opportunity to chat with other visitors from other countries and learn about highlights of their adventures.

United KingdomVery small room, on the top level, due to the pitched roof. The constant smell of rotten eggs coming either from the bathroom or the small sink in the room (especially at night - unbereable). The emergercy light in the room was constantly on, impossible to sleep unless you cover it.
Fantastic location and nice staff.

MalaysiaRoom is small for 4 people, imagine that with 4 big luggage, but we find a way to solve it. It is still manageable in overall.
The staff is really nice. We were rushing in the morning, and we would like to use the kitchen to pack on our lunch, but he said it is not convenient as it is the breakfast time for others guests as well. And he offer us go to another unit, and allow us to prepare our lunch over there.

SwedenI do not have any complaints!
Very clean room, good quality typical Nordic breakfast, I liked the atmosphere of the whole place. Comfortable bed, and the room was big enough for a single room at a budget accommodation. Check in took just a few seconds, only to tell my name and then get the keys. I stayed for a whole week, using Reykjavik as a base for exploring western and southern Iceland. The price was very affordable considering how expensive accommodation is in general in Reykjavik.

United KingdomThe room was much smaller than pictured, just a bed and opening for the door. The single shared bathroom was between all 5/6 rooms on the floor which as not advertised, and the toilet and shower are in the same room so if someone is in the shower you cannot use the toilet.
The location was amazing, really central and easy to get to all the sights and coach stations for activities. The staff were polite and the breakfast was simple but plentiful.

IcelandThe fact that we were in our bedroom and one morning we heard another guest fussing about loud noises in the night and heard him say “fu**g bastards I bet it was them…” we spoke about it between the two of us if he was referring to us but didn’t give it a second thought. Then the day after the hotel manager spoke to me and said he wasn’t going to let us buy another night because we got complained about for loud noise in the night. I asked what kind of noise but he said that he hadn’t asked about it and obviously wanted to get out of the conversation. I said we didn’t recognise being loud since we are calm people but we did have an issue with the person in the room next to us. With that said we didn’t get to book another night and was asked off the property the next morning. I know for a fact that this is based on prejudice towards us but my husband has tattoos in his face and all over and I have tattoos all over my body. It’s terrible to feel judged based on “I BET it was them” comment and without giving us any benefit of doubt getting basically kicked off the property. We really enjoyed our stay at the beginning but felt shamed and prayed upon in the end and no matter how I tried to talk about it, it gave me no comfort seeing he wasn’t computing my feedback on the matter. Heavily disappointed and thought 2024 people were more open minded than this…
In the beginning we loved the staff and how comfortable the beds are.
