Friendly hosts, incredibly warm and great breakfast

I recently stayed at Bitra Guesthouse and was very pleased with my experience. The guesthouse is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful. The location is peaceful and quiet, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The price is very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the accommodations and the excellent breakfast included. Overall, I would highly recommend Bitra Guesthouse to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable place to stay in Selfoss. Here are some of the highlights of my stay: Cleanliness: The guesthouse was impeccably clean, from the rooms to the shared spaces. Comfort: My room was comfortable and cozy, with a plush bed and ample storage space. Welcome: The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. Location: The guesthouse is located in a peaceful and quiet area, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Value: The price is very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the accommodations.

The hosts were amazing. This was my first guesthouse experience and it exceeded my expectations. We got there and it was already dark. We noticed that the northern lights could be out and the hosts did whatever they could to help us see them. It was great! We were the only 2 people booked for the night but when we woke up there was this massive and delicious breakfast. I was astounded by all the different kinds of food they offered. I would stay here all nights if we weren’t going to drive around Iceland.

Everything about stay at Guesthouse Bitra B&B was perfect. We wouldn’t have changed a thing! We are grateful to Kasia and the team for providing us with such a hospitable and memorable stay at what became our favorite accommodation while visiting South and East Iceland.

Of the seven different accommodations we booked for our stay in Iceland, Guesthouse Bitra B&B was by far the best. Our lovely host, Kasia, kindly assisted with moving our luggage into our rooms without us asking. She patiently prepared a fantastic brekkie spread for the two mornings we were there, a wonderful start to two days spent mostly on the road. The guesthouse is conveniently located not far from the Ingólfsskáli Viking Restaurant and the main attractions on the Golden Triangle. Guesthouse Bitra B&B will always have a special place in our hearts because that’s where we saw the Aurora Borealis for the first (and only) time of our visit to Iceland in September 2023.

The place definitely has its charm, with atmosphere, out of the way. Inside, a great lounge with comfortable sofas, lots of books (including Harry Potter in Polish :)), breakfast - lots of choice and everything delicious.

That we couldn't stay for longer.

Kasia was so friendly, helpful and kind in ensuring our stay was perfect. The facilities are wonderful. The attention to detail in each room meant that our stay was very comfortable. The food for my gluten free breakfast was plentiful and absolutely delicious. The large warm common room with tea and coffee making facilities was inviting. Everything was so clean and lovely.

The room is small and share bathroom with other guests. Hope that can be improved. The breakfast is perfect - excellent!

Super cozy and tourist friendly countryhouse, within meters from one of the main roads, but immersed in the nature. The staff was super friendly and willing to help, and there are many subtle touches to make the most out of your stay in that part of the island. Very good breakfast as well

Rooms were a little sterile and quite small

Booked this last minute as a stop over point. It’s on the side of a highway, ten km from Selfoss. The staff are great (especially Kazia). Excellent breakfast. Very clean and warm.
