Our booking was with shared bathroom and the toilets in our floor were occupied all the time and sometimes there were bits of hair in the shower, not very pleasant. We struggled with it and I would definitely recommend choosing a room that offers private bathroom.

We knew that it would be shared bathrooms but not one shower on the floor for 9 rooms and 18 + people. You could go downstairs for more showers but there were always line ups. The shower was dirty and the rooms were tiny. No toilet paper. For the price you pay we expected more.

Walls are thin. I could hear the person in the next room snoring, and it was loud enough to actually wake me! Mercifully it stopped after a little bit, not sure why. But it was quite audible. Basement rooms are below the dining room and kitchen so you are likely to hear furniture being moved as people sit for breakfast from 7 am onwards. If you wake up late, not a great idea to take a basement room.

The property is actually a little outside Selfoss (about 10 mins to the west). It is quite a large guest house with three floors and several rooms. We had a room in the basement level, which was quite comfortable and had some extra space (like a foyer) and a sink. Bathrooms and toilets were shared but clean and well organized. The guesthouse staff is very welcoming and had an eye for detail to ensure the comfort of guests. The lower floor also has a lounge area with seating and a large TV, coffee and tea, a microwave. No fridge though. And no kitchen amenities. Breakfast was perhaps the most sumptuous I have encountered on the trip, of the continental style. Eggs, meats, breads, cereals … note the plural! All well arranged and organized. Room was warm and cozy. Great view from the windows of the dining room and the room!

The room was incredibly hot, even once we'd worked out how to turn the heating off.

We were checking out very early so we had to arrange payment the night before for which seemed a little challenging for the administration. The owner was very friendly and doing her best but there was a clear lack of staff at hand when you needed them (although I made my request to pay at a reasonable hour I had to come back an hour later because the owner was 'in the shower.'

Breakfast was good - and very welcome considering the location! The rooms were basic but functional.

Private bathrooms in the rooms should be renewed, the rooms are in the lower floor of the house and it seems to be in a basement when you enter the bathrooms, not decorated, not kept well as the rooms. Also you’re asked to take off your shoes at the front door, but then people keep moving them and dirtying them placing others’ shoes on top of yours.

Nice views, the guesthouse is on top of a hill and the surroundings are wonderful. Very good breakfast.

Our room was extremely small and basic. Check in seemed to be staffed by a young teenager who gave little explanation of the facilities. Other guests often thought there was only one bathroom, however there was another set of showers and toilet in the back of the guesthouse, which I had to make them aware of. There was a communal kettle for tea and coffee, however this wasn't restocked, and no fridge which would have been helpful.

The location was convenient for our planned stop on the Ring Road to Landmannalaugar. The breakfast had good variety.
