The staff was remarkable and really seemed to enjoy working there. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We didn't have time for the Spa but it was very inviting. For those looking for a remote place to watch the Northern Lights they have a special service where the Front Desk keeps a look out and rings your room when they start! Ownership: Special shout out to one of your people working the front desk. He made us really feel welcome. Not sure of his name but he recently moved to Iceland from Czechoslovakia...Great Employee!

A beautiful old hotel with modern amenities, and an excellent restaurant. A perfect place to relax on the lake!

We thought the spa was included in the price, unfortunately the spa was 2000Kr pp extra.

Location was good, best breakfast we’ve had so far! Plenty of vegan options for breakfast. Dinners was also good. Bed was very comfortable!

The sauna was out of order, so could only use the hot pool for 1000 ISK. They also didn't tell us that they had a northern light wake-up service, which we only found out about the next morning.

Good hotel right next to the lake. The room has a good size with a kettle and the hot pool (spa) was nice after a long day out (not that you have to pay extra). The restaurant at the hotel was excellent.

Location was excellent. The Spa/ Sauna was wonderful after a long day of driving. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The dinner was well prepared and delicious like you'd find in a specialty restaurant and the wait staff was friendly and very informative.

The sauna wasn’t open, and there were lots of old cups in the hot tub area.

I'm not sure if the hotel could do anything about this, but the shower water smelled of sulfur.

Loved this property. The breakfast was amazing. Beautiful views of the lake. Also, the spa was incredible. All around, this hotel and area had a lot to offer and we greatly enjoyed our stay.

Nothing worth mentioning.

The on-site farm was a highlight, and our son loved watching the animals. Dinner was excellent. The room was spacious but felt a bit dated. Overall, a decent hotel in good location in Egilsstadir.

Lovely clean room, comfy beds, great linens. Cozy hotel with nice lounge area. Fabulous lamb dinner in the on-site restaurant. And full excellent breakfast to send us on our way.

There is a farm smell in the carpark. This didn't worry us. No smell inside at all. We even had our window open and could not smell anything.

Bed comfortable. Wake up buzzer for Aurora. Food in the restuarant at dinner(evening meal) was exceptional.

Beautiful location right on the lake. Great breakfast and nice dinner options. We were there in summer, but looks like it would be amazing for winter too with cozy lounge spaces and cross country skis available.
