It was convenient to places we wanted to visit. It was an easy check in with the key waiting by the front door along with our room number. It was clean and comfortable. Beautiful view!

We switched the beds around to see the view out the windows. A little awkward. The mattresses were a little hard for me. That’s it. Would stay there again.

Check in was simple. Room was great - clean, comfy and a beautiful view to the nature reserve. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner. Shower rooms were perfect. Takk

We thought shared bath would mean 2-3 total rooms shared a bath, but here it was 10 rooms to 2 WC and 3 showers. Both toilets seemed to leak at the floor. And other guests were slobs, including urinating on the seat. A little more lighting in the parking area for rainy night visibility.

Walls between rooms seem soundproof. Reasonable drive to restaurants and beach. Large common area.

On arrival the property was clean. Lovely views from the eating area. We had the space to ourselves for around 20 minutes but as soon as others arrived, it was awful. The kitchen turned Into a complete state. There weren’t enough pots and pans for everyone. Two tea towels to go around 10 rooms of guests….. It constantly smelt bad. The floor is so hollow you can hear every footstep and it feels like elephants crashing through. We also had some really inconsiderate guests. No staff anywhere but quick to get in and clean before the check out time! Only two toilets for 10 rooms and I was constantly waiting over 10 minutes to use them…. Expensive for what it is.

It’s like a Motel 6 style of hotel except there was no reception and you had to share bathroom and showers with other people. It’s not much cheaper than a lower end hotel in this area.

We had a great stay at Guest House Reynir. Although we were initially skeptical about shared accommodation, we were pleasantly surprised by how clean everything was, especially the well-equipped kitchen. The staff was kind enough to provide a crib for our baby upon request, which was much appreciated. The view from our room was beautiful, and we enjoyed watching the sunset from there. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we highly recommend this place.

The accommondation is really not well maintained. The sleeping room has an annoying and bad smell. It did not disappear even though we open the window. The shower was extremely old and not clean. Shampoo was empty for the two nights we stayed. The restroom is so old that it disturbs all the time whenever someone is using it. Last but not least, the price was much overly high in terms of its quality.

The location was good and close to the black beach. Actually that is the only positive point for this guesthouse.

Zero customer service or reception staff.

Very poor value for money. No reception staff. No breakfast. A very uninviting feeling to this property. Avoid it if you have other options. We've been traveling around Iceland for a week and every other place we have stayed is MUCH better than Hotel Reynir. Reynir seems intent on ripping off tourists without any care for customer service.

The shared kitchen and bathroom were extremely clean and well equipped. The kitchen had everything thing needed for your own food and beverages but it was stocked with coffee and tea. Lovely view of the water and mountains.

There was dried blood on the sheets. The heater didn’t work. Rooms are very small. the bed took up half the square footage is the larger room option. When they say private washroom, this does not include a shower. No hot water. Staff was nowhere to be found majority of our stay. The room ventilation was weird. I had issues taking deep breaths after staying for 2 nights. There are better options in the area. Stay away from this place.

There were guests coming in late and leaving early - one day guests showed up at 1-1:30 am and they were very loud. Woke me up and could go back to sleep. The very next day the same group or a different group woke up at 4:30-5 am and were very loud walking up and down the hall talking loudly, kids running up and down the hallway. It would be nice if they had a sign that said quite time at 10 or 11 pm and to be respectful of other guests with noise.

Looking for the typical Icelandic hospitality? Then don't come here, there is no host around and the only communication I got is that there's a self checkin today. Rooms are extremely noisy and mine was overlooking a crowded road. Very basic room as well as the separate bathrooms. Very pricey, there are better options in Vik.
