Amazing place and with amazing aurora views

The shower was too low pressure and thin water. The electric stove is a bit tricky to use. Everything else was great. We used the barbacue and worked great.

No kettle in room or possibility to borrow one from the guesthouse. Also the bathroom on the top floor had very see through windows which was a bit awkward.

We scored a spacious room on the top floor that shared bathroom only with one other room which was nice. Good breakfast with possibility to make waffles. Price was ok for Iceland considering the Myvatn area is so popular year round.

I recently had a wonderful stay at Guesthouse Stöng and Cottages, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! The location is fantastic, providing easy access to some of Iceland's most stunning natural attractions while still offering a peaceful retreat.The cottages were nice, spacious, and impeccably clean, providing a cozy atmosphere that made it feel like a home away from home. Each cottage was well-equipped with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay, making it perfect for both short and extended visits.One of the highlights of my stay was the delicious breakfast served each morning. It featured a variety of fresh options that catered to different tastes, setting a great tone for the day ahead.The friendly staff truly enhanced the experience, always ready to offer recommendations and ensure that we had everything we needed. Overall, Guesthouse Stöng and Cottages is an excellent choice for anyone looking to explore Iceland while enjoying a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.

Nothing could have been better

Location was amazing, remote but not hard to reach. The conditions were right and the clouds cleared up for some amazing views of the northern lights! The breakfast was beyond amazing and the best we had at a hotel/hostel/airbnb on our entire 2 week trip. Would definitely stay here again if were ever back in the area!

One of our favorite stays, sheep all around. Spacious and clean rooms, hot water and the restaurant is delicious. I recommend the fish! The staff was really friendly, the service was great!

We had room number one and in order to get there we had to go down two very narrow sets of stairs. They were also right in front of the showers and became slippery sometimes, which is why my friend slipped and fell and got a nasty bruise from it.

The location further away from the main road was great. After a long day of driving and hiking the hot pot was exactly what we needed. The breakfast was also the best we had on our journey.

We loved our stay here. We were a group of 16 people, some stayed at the cottages and some others at the shared rooms. Bathrooms were super clean and modern, the beds were comfy and the facilities very clean. We had breakfast and everything was delicious. We even bought handmade sweaters at the best price we could get. Loved the farm vibe of the place.

The fact they would not give a refund when we had to change our plans months ahead. They only allowed us to change the date. We also did not like the vaulted ceilings in the rooms. We hit our heads a few times.

Beds are on the smaller size and not very comfortable for two people . Bedroom also quite small .

For us the location was great . Living area was fine for 2 people . Lovely views across the paddocks . Road recently graded which was good . Restaurant and staff were fantastic . Soup included with the main meal which was a bonus !! Delicious trout and lamb , went back a second night it was so good . Kitchen well stocked .

The room is big, very warm and has everything you need. Also, they have a restaurant where you can take the dinner and i totally recommend to ear there, all the dishes are from their farm and are simply delicios :)

It was undoubtedly one of the best stays I've had in Iceland. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the incredibly friendly owner, who made us feel right at home. We arrived just in time for dinner, and we were treated to a delicious homemade meal that truly captured the essence of Icelandic hospitality. After dinner, we had the perfect end to our evening by soaking in the farm's hot tub, which was nestled in a cozy spot on the property. The setting was peaceful and serene, making it a perfect place to unwind. Our room was equally cozy, with a view that was simply unforgettable. I was able to watch the northern lights dance across the sky right from my room—a magical experience that I’ll never forget. Although we only stayed for one night, I would have loved to extend our stay. This farm truly offered a memorable and authentic Icelandic experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and unique place to stay.

under the beds were pretty dusty, we only know because we dropped something that rolled under them. Otherwise, the room was very clean.

Dinner and Breakfast were both exceptional. Dinner menu was about 4-5 choices and fairly/comprably priced, we had the pan-fried trout with mushroom soup - one of our favorites. Breakfast was included and there were lots of options - waffle maker, cereals, deli meats and cheeses, coffee machine with specialty coffees, toast & jams, and yogurts. Room was a great size for 3 people, and the bedding was comfortable. Bathroom wasn't that far from the room and they were all kept very clean. It was nice having a sink in the room. The grounds were gorgeous and so peaceful to walk around.
